Siesta Beach on Siesta Key is one of the best beaches in  America because its sand is as white as snow.

There are other benefits this powdery sand has besides its beauty.

It is the most preferred by sandcastle builders because it packs well.

It is good for beach volleyball, and jogging games.

The most beautiful thing is, the temperature will never increase to the point of burning the bottom of your feet as you go back to your Siesta Key vacation condo.

Many of us experienced this when we walked on darker-colored sand on a hot afternoon.

You will feel very uncomfortable, and your shoes will become a necessity.

It is not only in Siesta Key you will see this cool beach sand, but the more you go further north of America the rarer it becomes.

So, why does the sand in the Gulf of Mexico stay cool?

The sand you see on most beaches is a mixture of sand, gravel, pebbles, rock, coral, and seashells.

They continue to change in composition with time.

There is a continuous accumulation and erosion of these materials throughout the beach’s life, and they do not settle for a long time.

This is the source of the colors you see on beach sand.

Different beaches have different shades and colors.

You will see them in white, black, tan, yellow, red, and some other colors.

A lot of beaches have neutral colors like tan and yellow.

This is because they have a wide range of material deposits on them.
