I have lived on the east and west side of Florida, and can easily tell you what I feel about the beaches on these coasts.

Are beaches better on the west or east side of Florida?

The choice depends on what you want to do on any of the coasts.

For instance, I love surfing and the Atlantic Ocean on the east gives me more wave activities than  what I enjoy on the Gulf Coast.

Further, I like the active beach experience on the east coast.

I don’t think I am biased because I made it based on my adventures.

However, the west coast has something unique that may cancel my opinion about the east coast.

No,

the beaches on the east side of Florida offer you more active experiences and adventures.

However, the west side has more sandy beaches, smooth, and crystal clear waters.

The Ocean Face-Off

East Coast

The Atlantic Ocean is more active than the Gulf Coast, offering visitors opportunities for surfing and other beach activities.

I mentioned that I enjoy the more waves associated with the Atlantic Ocean because I surf a lot.

West Coast

Whenever I want a laid back beach experience, I visit the Florida Gulf.

The west coast has amazing white sand beaches that are long and flat with calm surfing opportunities.

Families can have the best moments of their lives on this part of Florida.

The Clearwater Beach and Treasure Island are some of the most family-friendly destinations on the east coast.

Treasure Coast vs. Cultural Coast

East Coast

Do you want to become a treasure hunter?

You can make this come true when you visit the east coast.

Long time ago, a fleet of Spanish ships got wrecked on this part of Florida.

In addition, the Palm Beach, Indian River, and St.

Lucie counties are referred to as Treasure Coast.

People who want a weekend getaway or beach vacation can use any of the beach resort and spa locations, especially those in Palm Beach County.

You can sift easily by moving through the silk sugar sands or finding treasures along the coast.

West Coast

Imagine the amenities and cultural attractions that would overwhelm you in places like Sarasota on the west coast.

The west coast offers amazing festivals and events like the Ringling, Towles Court artist colony, and Sarasota Opera.

The west has a vibrant creative culture if you want to soak up the sun along the beaches and enjoy music and performing arts.

Out on the Water

East Coast

The east coast has a lot of ship activities that move up and down.

However, don’t expect a fine and luxurious scene because you will find a collection of shipwrecks you can use for diving.

You can enjoy the warm, clear waters off Delray Beach, where beginner scuba divers and snorkelers can enjoy water activities.

For instance, the remains of the shipwrecked S.S.

Inchulva, or the Delray Wreck, lie 500 feet offshore, and you can dive and swim.

West Coast

The west coast has plenty of charter boats you can hire, both sail and power options.

From the dry land on the Gulf Coast, you can experience Sky Surfing, which is a new experience.

You can get airborne with Delta Wing or trike to watch the clear, turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

You can watch manatee sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, and dolphins.

For the Fishermen

East Coast

If you are coming to the east coast, Hutchinson Island or the “Sailfish Capital of the World” can be your dream destination if you want to fish.

You cannot wait to try your hands as a fisherman when you come here.

You can catch some of the most spectacular and striking fish, like sportfish.

The Gulf Stream is some distance from the island, where you can catch sailfish and other.

The island has many fishing charter boats and luxury sport-fishing yachts.

West Coast

The Gulf Coast offers you a beach activity that is calmer and more relaxing.

You don’t need to hassle with a permit before you use places like the Naples Pier for your fishing activities.

Whether you want to catch sea trout, Spanish mackerel, pompano, and snook, you can use the west coast for such activity.

Remember, you can experience spectacular sunsets while staying around the Naples Piers in the evenings.

Finally, Orlando is one of the finest places you can visit in Florida for your getaways or vacation.

Orlando has great places like Universal Studios,  Walt Disney World and Magic Kingdom, Epcot, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Gatorland, Animal Kingdom, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Discovery Cove, and more.
