Usually, the peak of hurricanes falls on the states in the southeastern United States, the Atlantic coast and the Gulf of Mexico.
Miami is a region of the most active hurricanes.
Storms often pass the coast, but if they catch, then everything will be destroyed.
Miami is located in the most favorable position for the storm – between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic coast.
Did you know that in Florida there are about 10-15 storms of varying intensity in one season!
In Florida the Federal Emergency Management Agency manages the prevention and elimination of the consequences of hurricanes and storms.
They also make memos and recommendations on behavior in case of natural disasters.
Now Let’s move to Ian Hurricane.
This is what happened recently with Miami, Florida.
I heard that hurricane Ian is called the 5th category of hurricane in the United States when it makes landfall, as measured by wind speed.
As I remember, the Hurricane with a maximum wind speed of almost 155 mph hit Florida on Wednesday 28th of September, 2022.
Nearly 2 million homes and businesses in the state were left without power.
Catastrophic storm surge, winds and flooding were imminent in Florida.
The height of sea waves exceeded 197 inches on the coast.
What Part of Florida did Ian destroy?
South and Central Florida.
Hurricane Ian destroyed South and Central Parts of Florida.
After the state of emergency was declared style=”font-weight: 400;”>, a large number of citizens moved to the eastern and northern parts of the state, which were paralyzed because of the traffic on highways.
Florida residents flocked to supermarkets to stock up on water and food. Most of the shelves in the grocery departments of giant supermarkets were empty.
Airlines sold out all tickets.
Flooding was throughout south and central Florida.
Contaminated waste from phosphorus fertilizer plants, more than a billion tons of weakly radioactive waste got into the water.
People were posting messages on social media, pleading for the salvation of themselves and their loved ones. Emergency services struggled to cope with the unlimited calls from people stuck in flooded homes.
Did Ian hit West Palm Beach?
Yes!
Ian Hurricane had just hurt West Palm Beach slightly ,but did not bring very serious damage.
Most of the victims are on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
The Gulf of Mexico is the place with the most powerful blow of Hurricane Ian.
With a huge speed the hurricane crushed everything in its path.
Entire cities went under water, roads and bridges were washed out, only fragments remained from hundreds of houses.
“Ian” destroyed the only bridge to the Florida Keys, turned the historic Melbourne Beach pier into ruins, ripped dozens of yachts from the berths, some were carried right to the streets.
Those who did not have time to evacuate were removed from the roofs by rescuers.
Did Boca Raton get hit by Ian?
Yes, Boca Raton was hit by Ian.
The town of Boca Raton was actually at the epicenter of one of the most powerful hurricanes of Hurricane Ian.
I was there when I heard about the coming hurricane.
When I heard that my town would be at the epicenter of one of the most powerful hurricanes the tears flowed.
When it became clear that Ian would definitely turn to Florida, there was a fog in my head.
I could not think of anything else, all consciousness was swallowed up by the impending danger.
And the panic created intensified all my emotions.
When you see your neighbors throwing their suitcases into their cars and driving far north, there is no doubt you should have followed them.
Especially when the most precious thing was nearby my children…. =(
I would like to say that the evacuation went very smoothly.
Areas that were most affected by the hurricane were evacuated in advance.
The Florida Keys were first in line for evacuation, followed by Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
At first it was in the form of advice and persuasion from the side of authorities.
But closer to the appointed date, a forced evacuation was announced.
The police went door to door and forced people to leave. There were organized buses for those who could not leave in their car.
We were evacuated by ourselves by car, since we have a rented house, I was not afraid of losing it forever.
Of course it’s a pity to come to the ruins.
Luckily, Only trees were damaged in our complex when we came back.
Did Ian hit Delray Beach Florida?

Delray Beach got damages. This area was declared a state of emergency.
There were many destructions of road surfaces, destroyed structures, and glass fragments were flying at high speed, flipped cars.
