Florida attractions are the most beautiful and interesting places created by both nature and man, such as beaches, national reserves, amusement parks and ancient cities with fortresses, which are located in the US state of Florida and annually attract the attention of millions of people from all over the world .
I myself also drove around Florida by car – along the Atlantic coast and along the Gulf ofMexico, where I visited a lot of interesting things for me, took practical information and compiled a tourist map.
In general, I learned a lot about what to see in the southeastern United States, and now I am happy to share with you all the practical information about an independent trip to the sights of Florida – and what to see there.
Let’s start from the most visited city in Florida.

What Is The Most Visited City In Florida?
Miami!
The most visited city in Florida is Miami, of which Miami Beach is a part – a famous place of beach holidays, nightlife and entertainment (almost like in Las Vegas, but without casinos and mostly with elements of Latin American culture).
This sunny paradise is visited by people from all over the United States of America and from abroad: every year it receives more than 38 million tourists, spending more than 17 billion dollars on holidays.
Driving In Florida
I also learned that it is most convenient to move around the state in a rented car, since the distances between its attractions are quite large.
Highways in Florida are mostly free.
But there are also toll roads, which are faster.
They are called the Florida Turnpike.
Almost all highways, except Route 4, leading to Orlando are toll roads.
There is also a toll section from Miami to Homestead, from Fort Lauderdale to Naples (Route 75).
Toll roads in Florida are based on distance traveled (6 cents per mile).
By the way, when I drove around Miami and the surrounding area by car, I did not notice any special traffic jams.
Compared to New York and Los Angeles, Miami is quite a convenient city.
However, keep in mind that parking on the main streets is paid.
On every highway leading into Florida state, there is the Florida Welcome Center, where you can stop, relax, and treat yourself to grapefruit juice, because Florida is a citrus state, as is clear from their license plates – take maps and get valuable information about the state and its attractions are completely free.
What Part of Florida Has The Most Things To Do?
Orlando.
Orlando is not only a major American metropolis, but also the capital of entertainment, which threatens to outshine the famous Las Vegas in the future.
Today Orlando is one of the most popular cities in the United States, which invites tourists to have fun.
In terms of the variety of various attractions, Florida can compete only with California, where it is also very convenient to travel to interesting places by car.
Florida was discovered by Spanish settlers, so there are indeed many historical towns, including the first settled by Europeans and the permanent city of San Agustin (St.
Augustine).
And just like in California (for example, in Santa Barbara, Carmel or San Diego), in Florida you can admire the colonial architecture.
And the tropical climate makes visiting these towns even more exotic.
Beach Resorts in Florida
The beaches in Florida are some of the best in the US.
They are much better than the beaches in Los Angeles and some of them can even compete with the beaches in the Maldives.
In my opinion, the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico are better than those on the Atlantic coast.
And of course, it is worth choosing non-urban beaches, although they are much better than many beach resorts in Europe, for example, but the beaches of state parks.
You have to pay to enter the parks – usually about $10 per car.
But it’s worth it – there are fewer people and the sand is cleaner.
However, for whom it is important to be closer to the hotel and civilization, then this option will not work for you.
Miami (Miami) – the most famous resort in Florida and the club capital of the United States.
Here it is best to relax in an excellent hotel and go to the beach, taste Cuban cuisine and be sure to have fun from morning to night.
Fort Lauderdale – American Venice.
Unlike Venice on the West Coast, this is a respectable area.
There are also prestigious shopping centers, beaches and a port from where cruise ships leave for the Caribbean.
Key West is the southernmost point in the United States and one of the key islands, where the most beautiful road across the ocean leads.
Most of the tourists come here for the sake of the Hemingway House Museum and to shop on Duval Street.
And of course, relax in a tropical paradise.
Delray Beach is a postcard town from the 20s, a very quiet and peaceful beach town with a beautiful main street, Atlantic Avenue.
NASCAR races are held here, and on the beach you can drive a car yourself.
And in the summer, free concerts are often held in Daytona Beach.
Naples is a Gulf Coast town best known for its high-end shopping and countless golf courses.
In part, it resembles the town of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
The beaches here are quiet and calm, and the sand is white, almost like in the best resorts in the Maldives.
A wonderful place for a relaxing or romantic getaway in nature.
It is 60 miles from Orlando, but only 25 miles from Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Museum.
Here is my personal TOP 6 Things to do in Florida:
Visit Fortress Castillo de San Marcos.
I advise you to visit this fortress in the center of the first European city in the USA to everyone who visits the north of Florida.
I especially likedLammas Park Beach in Miami with a cozy promenade, convenient for both pedestrians and cyclists.
It is good to walk there under the shade of palm trees, hiding from the hospitable and generous sun of Florida.
Then I really fell in love with theEverglades National Park and I was impressed with the opportunity to see live alligators.
For the first time in my life I saw these monsters with my own eyes!
And the unique natural landscape of the Florida swamps is also fascinating.
Visit Coral Castle, it is a curious castle-museum and garden with sculptures, built from shell rock by Edward Leedskalnin in the middle of the 20th century.
Located near Miami.
Tropical Garden Fairchild (Fairchild Tropical Garden) is a must visit in the garden where you can see very rare tropical plants.
Also located near Miami.
