Pereybere Beach
The urban attraction called Pereybere Beach is small and picturesque.
You can truly relax and just lie on a sun bed.
Near the beach there is another interesting sight; to the left, on the rocks is the Hibiscus Beach.
There are a few villas and ideal places to stay.
The sand is nice, no snorkeling.
At the right portion is the so-called “wild” beach.
This tiny piece of sand and a bush offer good snorkeling, you can even see the sea turtles.
Also recommend the beach Ben Beth (Bain Boeuf) – from “wild” beach on the concrete collar (at low tide and where the stones can be) further to the right, beyond Cape Pointe d’Azur, or on the road behind the store called Winner’s.
Entry to the water is not very comfortable (lots of algae), but it is the most picturesque, deserted, and the only site that is only possible for snorkeling.
When a little storm comes around here, the shallow sand is heavier but still the water is clear.
Mauritians love the beach of Pereybere for only one reason; its sand is like velvet.
Moreover, it is also quite short and then at a certain moment quite overwhelming although in a completely pleasant presentation.
My favorite stuff to do in Mauritius
Ile Aux Cerfs
The first way to explore the Island is by speed-boat with only about 10 minutes of surfing and focuses on the leisure island with 3/4 hours to spare in the morning before the visit to the waterfalls and the BBQ lunch on the beach.
The other mode favors navigation on board a catamaran around the island with lunch on and about 1/2 hours on the island.
It is practical to choose the speed boat tour, with a dock on the island in the morning while the island is still not crowded.
You can also find time to make the breathtaking walk through the stretch to the resort’s golf clubs with beautiful views of the beach and pine forest.
The falls are also exceptional.
It is worth browsing to reach the view and admire the beauty of the passage.
There is the basic but pleasant BBQ lunch with great food and rum at will that is provided for every guest.
On the island there is a center for recreational sports where you can rent kayaks, try snorkeling , or be on a boat where you can take a special place in the waters to enjoy water skiing, there are also walking on glass bottom boats to you can admire the beautiful ocean floor and tropical fishes .
On the island there is a small market with affordable prices for souvenirs and a restaurant that serves national and European cuisine.
Fun things to do in Mauritius
Casela Nature and Leisure Park
One the best animal reserve attractions in Mauritius.
Upon entrance you will be amused at the excellent idea behind the farm where you can feed the deer, lambs, zebras, ostriches, young monkeys, turkeys, chickens and other animals.
Drive along the safari with a guide by using the Segway (although not everyone is able to deftly manage these toys while watching the animals).
After the first visit to the park, you are sure to fall in love with the zebras, lemurs, and iguanas.
Zebras can be approached up close to pet, feed on the farm, and while walking around the safari.
The Lemurs prefer to sit in a cage.
But they remain active and try to show that they are not slow and sleepy animals here.
The monkeys will run across and nimble if you give them bananas.
You can admire, caress, and walk with lions and see the majestic tigers.
When you visit these places you’ll get struck by how a variety of animals live as one in this natural habitat and how they marvel at each other.
Some wonder how the authorities can organize a small zoo and manage to feed such a huge variety of wildlife animals all in complete safety.
It is very educational especially for children.
In the park there is a cafe with nice prices and tasty burgers plus a cute souvenir shop.
Travel tip: You need to go by taxi as it is not in the most accessible place and buy tickets in advance to avoid being inconvenienced by the long line at the entrance.

La Vanille Crocodile Park
A huge great reserve where the zoo grounds are designed like a jungle.
It starts with its thick tropical vegetation, up to the rainforest basins that contain and breed Nile crocodiles.
The huge impression extends up to the course of the giant tortoises.
There is a large area with dozens of giant turtles.
There is a staff assigned that allow small kids to ride on their back.
Adults can feed green twigs which can be purchased at the inlet.
They are huge, they are many and they are fast runners.
You can pet them as they roam around (if the weight allows).
Do not fail to visit the Insectariums!
Here is one of the richest private collections of butterflies and insects from around the world, more than 23,000 species.
There are entertainment-feeding animals that are so much fun to do while inside the insectariums.
You can observe how they mate, feed, and learn about how short their lifespan is.
Feeding the crocodiles is done every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:30, 10:30.
The iguana and bats are at 14:30 every day.
Do not forget the camera as you will not only see these wild exotic animals but also the rare plants and trees that comprise its lush vegetation.

Black River Gorges National Park
Entirely covered with tropical rainforest and is the perfect example of a developed Eco-tourism in Mauritius.
This mountainous terrain with ravines and hills, rivers and waterfalls can be reached by taxi.
It passes through the park’s scenic road.
On the road there are a few lookouts with the view of the Pergolas Waterfalls.
If the lookouts are not enough, the park has several hiking trails.
Map of the routes can be purchased for 5 Rubles at the information center of Le Petrin (on the road called Quatre Borne – Chamonix at the turn of the Gran Basen (Lake Ganga Talao).
And from there begins one of the routes to a great place for walking in the ennobled, yet wild-growing forest.
Occasionally you have to battle against the strong force of the rivers and streams while the water is cold!
There are several picnic spots, but overall it is pretty, wild, and deserted.
It is a good opportunity to walk in nature alone.
There you can see rare birds, plants and stunning views!
If it is in season you can collect delicious berries.
Select the weekdays to avoid the huge crowd of tourists that usually gather here on weekends.
Must see places in Mauritius
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden
This splendid botanic garden is so widespread that you can admire the local flora and beyond.
Also interesting is the section on the giant tortoises.
It is a beautiful large garden that is full of trees, many of which belong to the family of the Palms plus a huge collection of endemic plants and orchids.
A series of large tanks and small ponds full of water lilies adorn the path of this 700 sq.
m.

The building that is deep in the park has a historical and architectural interest.
Inside, it has enclosed a photo book on the life of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam , the founder of the independence of the island of Mauritius where this enormous Botanic Garden is also named after.
It’s worth a trip to see the wonders of the botanical garden.
It is neatly organized with very well-groomed trails that effectively touch all areas of interests.
It is a true haven of peace, which is essential if you visit Mauritius.
What else to see in Mauritius ?
Citadel Fort Adelaide
A small fort built by the British Army but was never really used.
It is situated high on a hill, but the rise of the city there is not complicated.
You can wander around the fortress walls.
You can see all of Port Louis starting from the nearby, golf areas, the horse races at the Champ de Mars, the sun that hits the harbor, and the surrounding mountains.
It is worth a visit if you have enough time and desire.
It is well preserved and offer lots of chances to make great photos.
Definitely do a tour with a guide because very little historical indication is evident on its wall.
There are fine jewelers in the old walls that breathe history with its old stones of black basalt.
At the top, one sees the diversity of the city; from pagodas over Hindu temples, mosques, open air church, the racecourse, and the busy harbor.
The citadel is located on top of a hill on the outskirts of the city and it is therefore advisable to take a taxi to get there.

Parc Francois Leguat
The site called the Parc François Leguat although a bit eccentric in nature is still worth the trip.
A nice little walking is required after stopping the bus terminal but the visit is a good option when in the island of Rodrigues.
The outdoor park with turtles is highly appreciated by young and old alike.
The cave adds more thrill (bring a flashlight) and the white-tailed spiders offer a wonderful aerial ballet.
Do not forget the little museum that is very well done and in this little space complete with guide’s full explanation of the local fauna and flora.
A small restaurant provides a relaxing time with a drink or a meal.
Things to do in Mauritius with kids
Tamarin Bay
A holiday in the Tamarin Bay provides an extraordinary and unforgettable experience.
What delight to swim with dolphins in their environment, to almost hear them talk to each other, sometimes they speed up, sometimes they slow down, they approach you then move away, it’s everywhere right left behind front below, it seems to be able to reach out and the best part is you can touch them.
Do not hesitate to swim hard and fast to stay in their midst.
Be sure to video these magical and exciting moments.
The best time to enjoy this place is early in the morning because by noon, there are hordes of tourists and boats that want to keep pace with the dolphins.

Le Morne Brabant
The first thing you see when you approach the coast of Mauritius in flight, it is also connected with the Deer Island, one of the most representative views of the Moren region.
If you spend enough time there, it is advisable to go for a hiking adventure.
For those who do not want to get up at dawn to attempt the ascent, it is possible to go around the dreary, or 2/3 along the paved road by car or you can do the entire bike ride or scooter for those who do not live too far away.
The public beach is fine, there is soft white sand, it feels safe, and perfectly comfortable.
The view is great and the locals and tourists can have fun on the reef in the distance, enjoy great and easy swimming.
Except when the vessels of the luxury hotels decide to leave and the island soon becomes empty and deserted.
