Why is Destin water not clear?
It is believed that the color of the water here has to do with the Algae in it.
The reflection of the sun on the Algae in the water produces the beautiful emerald color the water has.
This beautiful color cannot be true on rainy days since it depends on the sun to come into being.
Why is Destin water brown?
Destin water is protected from the surf and waves that are usual sights along the beach.
However, the water is salt water, which is why it has a brownish color.
There are river, creeks, and springs on the bay that flows into it.
