Hey, my dear readers!
My regular readers probably know that Florida is rightfully considered one of the most attractive places for a beach vacation.
In different parts of the world, the beaches of this peninsula appear at the top of lists of the best places to relax.
Their rating, which is calculated by special agencies that study places of mass recreation, has remained at the highest level for many years.
Almost all of the famous Florida beaches receive awards every year.
All this is not accidental; here are truly heavenly places for recreation, created by nature itself.
It’s hard to find a more attractive vacation spot than Florida.
The peninsula is washed by warm waters (in other places in the United States, the water temperature off the coast is much lower).
The breaking wave from the side of the bay is weaker, and its height is lower than from the side of the Atlantic.
The water in the bay is always noticeably warmer than on the open ocean coast.
And today, as you asked me, I am comparing two famous locations: Destin Beach and Navarre Beach.
Let’s choose the best beach destination together!
Destin vs. Navarre Beaches Comparison
Destin Beach | Navarre Beach | |
Location of the Beach | The beach in Florida is located in the very center of the Emerald Coast. However, it is a popular destination that receives 5 million tourists every year. The legend says that this is the whitest sand in the world. | Navarra Beach is located on Santa Rosa Island, surrounded by protected nature. This beach is an ideal place for a romantic getaway as well as a quiet and relaxing holiday. Pure white sand literally creaks underfoot, attracting tourists. |
What should I do here? | Destin is a popular beach among tourists. Destin Beach is famous for its wonderful sugar beach and the wonderful sea water of the Gulf of Mexico—warm, clean, and caressing. Unfortunately, there are not enough amenities on the beach; you need to go to the parking lot or to the hotel to shower or use the toilet. Bring everything else with you: a blanket, a towel, chairs, and an umbrella. You can fish here. There are many wedding ceremonies, and just local vacationers… Here are many other watersport activities, such as parasailing, snorkeling, etc. | Navarre Beach is famous for its white sandy beaches, which are considered among the best on the coast of Florida. Here you can enjoy swimming in the warm waters of the bay, sunbathing, and practicing water sports such as surfing, wakeboarding, kayaking, and diving.
In addition, Navarre Beach has many restaurants, bars, and shops where you can taste the local cuisine and buy souvenirs. There are also parks and walking trails where you can enjoy beautiful views of the bay and nature. |
For whom is this beach? | It is the perfect place for youth. solo trips and also a nice place for families. | Navarre Beach is the perfect place to relax with family or friends, where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, activities, and a great atmosphere. |
How do I get there? | Fly to Tampa Airport (TPA) or Pensacola Airport (PNS). Next by taxi or by bus. | Fly to Tampa International Airport (TPA) or Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). Next, rent a car. |
Which Beach is Better: Destin or Navarre?
It depends on what type of tourist you are.
Navarre Beach is an amazing place for those who prefer calmness and less crowded places, while Destin Beach (because of its hype) is always crowded and, I would say, overpriced.
Although you cannot compare them by their beauty because both beaches feature gorgeous white sand and emerald green waves that are perfectly clean,
They do, however, have unique designs and attract a variety of tourists.
Destin Beach ranks #5 of the “Best Beaches in the Emerald Coast.” That’s why it is a hyped beach brand, and usually when you go there, you have to overpay for everything.
That’s why it might make sense to look for a more relaxed destination, such as Navarre Beach, for example.
Is Navarre Beach as nice as Destin?
Both of these two beaches are nice and beautiful.
While Destin has a livelier mood and more events and attractions, Navarre Beach offers a more sedate and serene atmosphere.
For me personally, Navarre is nicer than Destin Beach.
I adored this place. In comparison to the other towns along this section of the Emerald Coast, I discovered Navarre Beach to be more serene and less congested.
It was only a short drive to Okaloosa or Destin if you needed more dining options and parties.
Here, on Navarre Beach, dolphins, stingrays, and turtles swim up to the beach, giving extraordinary impressions and spectacles.
The water on the beach is blue and warm. Of course, you can get bored on this beach faster than on any other beach, but cleanliness and peace are always provided here, and for some people, it is a priority. The beach is ideal for family holidays as well as for bright family photos.
The beach is also popular among fishing enthusiasts, as many fish swim up to the warm bays. Here you can catch trout, perch, and other fish.
Is the Water at Navarre Beach Clear?
Yes, I checked it by myself, and I can say surely that the water here is crystal clear and light blue. Trust me here…
It is one of the most stunning beaches, with sparkling sand.
The beach is covered with soft, white, very fine sand that is truly silky to the touch and so pleasant to walk on with bare feet.
For me, even now, the trip to Navarre Beach is associated with warm memories.
By the way, I forgot to mention that Navarra is slowly becoming an ecotourism destination, and many wildlife sanctuaries have been created, such as the Navarra Beach Marine Life Sanctuary, the Emerald Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, and others.
What is the Best Month to go to Navarre Beach?
I know that the best time to visit Navarre Beach is during the warm season, from May to October.
We visited the southernmost state of the USA in spring (May) and autumn (October). And I can definitely say that a trip to Florida in the spring and early summer is the best option both in terms of prices, the lack of a large number of tourists, and the weather.
Not so hot yet, but already good. And in the fall, you can generally get into one of the hurricanes that regularly attack the southeast coast of Florida.
Okay, let me tell you some words about the Navarra climate, then:
The community of Navarra is located at the southern end of the humid subtropical climate zone, with long, hot summers and cool, windy winters.
Summer lasts from May to September, with an average high temperature of 76 °F.. Winter lasts from December to March, with an average daily temperature of 59 °F..
Navarra receives an average of 1658 mm of precipitation.
Hurricanes often threaten Navarre due to its low elevation and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico.
The Navarre area has experienced many strong hurricanes, such as Hurricane Erin, Hurricane Opal, Hurricane Dennis, Hurricane Ivan, Hurricane George, and more recently Hurricane Sally.
I think now you are ready for a long-awaited trip to a tropical paradise with beautiful beaches.
The most important thing in such a trip, which you have already done, is to choose the right beach, which I hope I helped you with today.
