Along the way to the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of Candonga you can enjoy the view of spectacular scenery.
And once you get inside the chapel you will find yourself being in an almost magical, beautiful place to spend the afternoon with your friends or family while learning so much about this historic church in Cordoba.
It is a historic chapel nestled in the middle of the mountains in a serene and paradise-like setting.
It was the post where mules or horses were changed, hence its name means “tired mule.”
There is a private enterprise that you can find here where you can have a vegetarian lunch using organic food and with excellent preparation.
It is a chapel that can be seen from afar and when illuminated at night is still seen in the distance.
The chapel may be simple looking outside but inside it is very attractive.
The exact spot where the chapel Candonga is located is not easily accessible.
You must travel several miles along a dirt road that slowly becomes narrower until you reach the rise to the height of the blue hill.
After passing several quarries, you will reach a viewpoint where the white image of the chapel peeks into view.
It stands on the same ground with the Santa Gertrudis (in front) restaurant where you can eat homemade Argentine recipes.
Their frames, windows, doors, walls, set the tone of the times when life was not easy in those places.
After a visit and some picture taking, you can continue the journey and reach many beautiful areas of the mountains.
The route does not present much difficulty, but it can be done with any type of vehicle (rented car or Moped) and warrants the help of a trained guide/porter in order to not get lost on the walking trail to reach this chapel.
