Vacationing in Florida is a long-awaited trip to a tropical paradise with beautiful beaches, don’t you agree?
The most important thing on such a trip is to choose the right beach, which our family did in advance.
To find out the main features of a great beach holiday, I decided to make a route along the beaches of Florida and visit some more of the best beaches around Destin.
Today we are comparing Miramar Beach and Destin Beach.
What is The Difference Between Destin and Miramar?
These are two different places in Florida, although Miramar Beach is due east of Destin, Florida.
Although it is often considered to be part of the city of Destin,
Miramar Beach cannot be compared to Destin’s beach.
Because there are some disadvantages at Miramar Beach, from my point of view,
At Miramar Beach, the waves are bigger, and additionally, there are not so many activities available at Miramar Beach, so you have to spend the entire trip at a hotel or around the hotel.
As for the city of Destin, which is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, with its white beaches and emerald green waters off the coast, you can have not only a beach vacation but also plenty of activities.
Florida has many incredible beaches, but you’ll find some of the best in the world on the Emerald Coast.
Destin has 12 public beach hotspots to choose from, so wherever you stay, you can find your own stretch of sand to enjoy nearby.
Miramar Beach is a beach town in Florida that has managed to avoid the mass development that has captured most of the resorts in the Gulf of Mexico.
Of course, there are high-rise condominiums here, but there are still many old-fashioned three-story houses.
In addition, there is a huge plus to Miramar Beach: it does not have such a large crowd of tourists as in neighboring Destin.

How Far Apart is Miramar Beach from Destin?
You won’t believe it, but they are located close to each other.
By car, it takes 9 miles to get from Destin to Miramar Beach in an easterly direction if you take US-98.
If you drive non-stop, it will take you only 13 minutes to get from Destin to Miramar Beach.

For me, Destin is better!
Destin has the most beautiful beaches anywhere.
white, soft sand, and amazing water.
However, it is always very crummy here.
Fo I would like to return to this beach; it is amazingly clean, the water is clear, and the sand is white.
There are always car parks nearby, but there are never enough places.
If you like not only a beach vacation but also some activities afterward, then choose Destin.
Choose Miramar Beach for a slow and lazy beach vacation 24/7.
Is Miramar Beach the Same as Destin Beach?
No.
Miramar Beach and Destin are different towns.
Miramar Beach is situated on a peninsula that separates the Gulf of Mexico from Choctawhatchee Bay.
Destin is located east of Pensacola and west of Panama City.
Despite being near one another, these two cities each have distinctive qualities that will make your trip wonderful.
Destin Beach Overview
Destin Beach is one of the best beaches in Florida.
They offer a great assortment of restaurants, and most of them are incredibly relaxed and casual.
Every location offers a large selection of cuisine, which is great for someone who does not enjoy fish and seafood.
Everywhere you go, families are welcome.
In addition to the amazing food opportunities you will have when visiting Destin, I must note the pristine beaches.
In all my travels, I have never seen sand so white and soft as in Destin.
Destin Beaches are very clean and have a great atmosphere for kids.
I wish they would not allow rental businesses to set up chairs and tents, as this detracts from the view and openness.
Destin is a true paradise, and I really recommend a trip there to everyone who wants to have a good time.

Why Are Destin’s Beaches so Clean?
Destin Beaches are so clean because sediment that enters from rivers or creeks far out on the other side is filtered by the enormous bay.
Every day, brackish runoff is not diluted by the clear, clean water that is imported from the deep Gulf waters.
Why is The Sand Not Hot in Destin?
Because it is the mineral-based sand that effectively reflects the heat of the sun.
The beach’s sand is cool to the touch, making it ideal for barefoot adventures.
Destin has a very beautiful beach with white sand that creaks underfoot and is as fine as flour, almost dust, I would say.
Someone compared Destin’s sand with semolina or sugar, but for me, it looks like starch!

Destin’s Beaches are known for their gorgeous white sands.
Destin’s beaches are claimed to be number one in the United States.
Usually the water is great here, except for the times with red tides.
Like all other public beaches, it is equipped with everything you need: toilets, showers, and recreation and barbecue areas.
Lifeguards are on duty every day.
Why is water Turquoise in Destin?
The turquoise hue of the water means that there is very little or almost no phytoplankton in the water.
Also, this color is because of the light sand or light stones at the bottom.
But active reproduction of phytoplankton, which has a red pigment, leads to the staining of sea water in the corresponding color.

About one hour before high tide and about two hours after high tide, you will see clear water in Destin.
High and low tides are separated by about six hours.
The height of the tides will vary depending on the time of day, day of the month, and season.
Most of the time, Destin’s water is incredibly clear.
However, you won’t see the water as clear as it is at other times during Gulf of Mexico hurricanes or if June grass is prevalent.
Miramar Beach Overview
It features scenic beach roads, surf shops, some fabulous restaurants, beachfront homes, and beachside resorts and condos with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico.
The best time to relax on Miramar Beach on the Emerald Coast is during the dry period from November to May.
However, in the summer half of the year, sea water is much warmer.
Here, you might also see college students or young professionals looking to let loose and party.
Accessible to the public, this kid-friendly beach is an ideal getaway for young families.
It’s also well-suited to seniors, couples, and anyone else seeking relaxation.
Although it tends to be quite busy during the summer, it rarely feels rowdy.
Few Destin-area beach locations offer such a seamless blend of convenience and serenity.
In fact, as I mentioned above, it’s only 9 miles from the heart of Destin.

Is Miramar Beach Less Crowded Than Destin?
Yes, Miramar Beach is less crowded.
Compared to Destin, Miramar Beach is often less congested.
It’s a terrific place for beachgoers who want to avoid the noise and crowds of other Florida beaches and has lots of peace and quiet, ideal for unwinding.
Why is Miramar Beach’s Water Green?
It is usually blue, but sometimes it can get a light green color, and it is green because there are plenty of minute plankton in the coastal waters around Miramar Beach.
Chlorophyll, which is produced by plankton, is what gives the water and underlying white quartz sand their lovely greenish hue when illuminated by the sun.
