A capital city of the Argentine Province of Misiones, it is located to the eastern shore of the Parana River right opposite to Encarnacion Paraguay.

With a splendid area of 965 kilometers and a population of 324,756 lovely people, this place is a delight to be in.

Welcoming tourists in large numbers, the city thrives on mixed races and cultures.

Segmented into Posadas and the Greater Posadas, this city is a wonderful mix of ancient traditions and the modern way of life.

A center of commerce, employment and economy, it mainly thrives on Furniture, Tobacco and food.

Construction and Textiles are the other major industries here.

It is connected with San Roque Gonzalez de Santa Cruz Bridge and the port, which once had a lot of economic importance.

Used for port vessels and passenger carrying Vessels, some boats at this port were also used for the transport of sand from one location to another.

Transport of sand at that time was very strategic for the construction processes and the paucity of sand in the other areas, had made this port a thriving center of economy.

Located on the National Route 2, around 1300 Kms

from Buenos Aires

, the International Airport is located 7 kilometers from the city and serves regular flights to connect Posadas with Buenos Aires.

Father Santa Cruz established a town called Annunciation de Itapúa 1615, but ten years later the settlement had been moved to the other side of the Parana River which is now called Encarnacion, Paraguay.

But this first settlement was not completely abandoned and during the Paraguauyan War of 1867, the Brazilians set up the Trinchera de San Jose military base here.

This town was then renamed after Gervasio Antonio de Posadas who was the Supreme Director of the Argentine Confederation.

In 1884, it became the capital of the Misiones Province and the commercial and economic links with Encarnacion were strengthened with the construction of the connecting bridge.

Best time to visit Posadas?

Posadas has a subtropical humid climate.

Wherein the summers are extremely hot and humid, lowest temperatures dip to around 20 Degrees Centigrade and reach highest at around 31.

5 degrees Centigrade.

There are frequent thunderstorms in this area.

The winters are not too cold either.

The lowest that it can dip to, is just 12 degrees C.

 

Visit Posadas

 

A visit planned avoiding the summer months is the best.

It is not the heat but the humidity that makes this place a little inconvenient during the summers.

While the temperatures may not be soaring high, the humidity makes the excursions and tours unpleasant.

So a trip to this place is best enjoyed between April, till November with the warmest season lasting from November 21 till March 21.

Costanera

A beautiful place for sightseeing and natural landscapes, walking alone on the promenade at this place is a delight.

A very positive place, this will surely leave a mark in your memory.

If you are able to see the sunset here you would notice the sheer beauty of this place.

Later at night in Costanera,

the couples sit outside relaxing and having fun.

You would be able to see many couples around this area, walking on foot and talking and chatting with each other.

This pace happens to be the most relaxed areas here.

The best is to avoid it when the sun is out and it is really out.

But considering that the city does have ten days of rainfall every month, walking along this boulevard is a mind blowing experience.

 

Costanera

 

There are a few bars and restaurants also all along the walkway.

If you feel like gorging on the local delicacies here, it would be a great idea anyways.

Also, the best would be to try the local cuisines and good food.

And understand the cooking pattern here.

The best part is the small paddle beach here.

There are many restaurants that have small paddle beaches in front of them while the properties line the waterfronts.

The river completely mirrors the Sunrise and the sunset making it one of the best sights to see .

All throughout the day, the water changes its colour and movement; and changes texture with different seasons as well.

Centro Del Conocimiento

Reach this place in twenty minutes from the main city and the first glimpse itself will tell youwhat’s important about it.

There are many bands that perform here and a short talk by an author will also tell you how to go about it.

They have also made some excellent acoustic sheds for making the listeners enjoy music.

Three floors of exhibition time make sure that you do not get bored at all.

A huge variety of cultural shows and traditional fests keep you occupied all the time making you want more.

A convention center is also frequently used by the people who are looking for space to have a collective meeting.

A lyric theatre which has been equipped with all the facilities of making it exemplary is also maintained.

 

Centro Del Concimiento

 

A kind of a city center that every city would want to have!

Though it is quite close to the main airport as Posadas not many people know about it.

Monumneto Andres Guazurari

The entire stretch of this area is wonderful for a drive and the statue of the warrior is a pleasant surprise.

A huge sculpture made of metal and located at the water front; this statue is spotted suddenly and almost appears to be coming out of nowhere.
