I will take you through some locations you would meet when you take this adventure to Key Largo.

In no particular order, here are some of the beautiful places to explore during your trip:

Key West Downtown

In downtown Key West you will see preserved architecture and aesthetics of the older generation.

Taking a tour of them will make your stroll of the area fun.

The downtown of Key West has always been known as a hub for partying.

The popular Duval Street is one of the places for partying in the area.

You can compare Duval Street to Bourbon Street in

New Orleans

.

Most of the bars and pubs in Downtown Key West feature a touch of Nola culture.

Most of the major tourist attractions in Key West are located on Duval Street.

Sunset Pier

Evening cocktail is best taken at the Sunset Pier on the colorful dock as you have a spectacular view of the sunset over Sunset Key.

The vibrant, and busy Sunset Pier is located at the center of Key West.

Business activities go on there during the day, and mostly in the evening hours.

Mallory Square Sunset Celebration

Spending the evening at the Sunset Celebration nightly arts festival at Mallory Square Dock is among the most important activities that take place in the Florida Keys.

Every night you will see local street performers, food vendors, and even psychics coming in the company of thousands of tourists to watch the sun as it sets into the Gulf of Mexico horizon.

Smather’s Beach

Between Key West and Key Largo, Smather’s Beach is the best, and its location is very close to the airport.

This is a postcard-perfect beach with pristine white sand, tall palm trees, and very clear water.

It is exactly the kind of

beach you had dreamed of before coming to the Florida Keys

.

Higgs Memorial Beach Park

Higgs Memorial Beach Park is located on the outskirts of Key West.

The beach is family-friendly and easy to access.

It has complete facilities, and you are charged nothing to access it, but parking is at a cost.

Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum

Another must-visit place in Key West is the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum.

This Museum was where a famous writer lived in the 1930s, and from there he wrote more than 70% of his books.

It has now become a National Historic Landmark, having more than 50 cats, some of them having six-toes.

The Museum has beautiful grounds.

You can either go on a guided tour or go exploration by yourself.

Key West Lighthouse & Keeper’s Quarters

You can see the Key West Lighthouse and Keeper’s Quarters from across the Ernest Hemingway House.

If you have the strength, it will be nice for you to climb to the top of the lighthouse, through the narrow spiral staircase.

From there you will have a clear view of the island.

Although the museum is small, it reveals interesting secrets about the life of the lighthouse keepers.

Harry S.

Truman Little White House

Truman Little White House was built in 1890.

It was initially the naval station’s command headquarters, and that was during the Spanish-American War, WWI, and WW2.

Years later, it served as the winter home of President Truman, and other presidents after him.

Presently, it serves as a government building and a museum.

When you visit some guards will take you on tour to learn more.

The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservancy

The most favorite thing to do in Key West in our opinion is the Key West Butterfly Conservancy.

As you walk through the magical trail, tranquil music echoes all through, and you be watching hundreds of butterflies and colorful birds swirl about.

What a truly enchanting experience!

Pen down the Butterfly Conservancy on the list of things you must do at Key West and Key Largo.

Southernmost Point

Queuing in a long line to register your presence when you visit the southernmost places in America and taking pictures is the only experience you get.
