What should you not miss when visiting Las Vegas?

I spent my holidays in Las Vegas in the company of my fiancée.

This was not our first time in Vegas therefore, having been to most of the major attractions that are popular among holidaymakers flocking to this city; we were determined to experience the other side of this holiday destination, away from the casinos.

Our itinerary was focused on those odd areas as well as places that are less crowded even though they too have their own measure of fun.

We sought accommodation at the,,,,, hotel, where we had been during our maiden trip. The services were good just like we had expected based on our first time experience.

Yes 3 days are enough in Vegas. Let me share with your my recommended 3 days itinerary.

Among the places that we visited in Vegas is Atomic Testing Museum that I recommend you visit when you go to Vegas.

This museum is fascinating and ideal for people of all ages as it documents the history of the nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site to the North of Las Vegas.

The displays are not just informative but also well laid out from the videos to the exhibits and photographs all of which are interactive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask the staff here who are friendly and helpful in answering all questions.

Another great museum that you must visit while in Vegas is the Clark County Heritage Museum that stands on a 30-acre site.

It has a modern exhibit hall whose main attraction is the exhibit on the Southern Nevada dating from the prehistoric to modern times as well as a collection of restored historic buildings depicting the lifestyle of the different decades.

It is important to take note of the fact that the museum is a little out of the way but it is easy to access. The museum is clean and has a well thought out design.

We also went to the Ethel M Chocolates Factory and Cactus Garden that is a two in one tour. It was exciting to see how the famous Mars Chocolate bars are made. Moreover, the chocolates here were totally awesome. It is a great place especially if you have a sweet tooth because you will be given piece of chocolate to try at the end of the tour so that you can then buy some of it at their store.

The store also has great tasting ice cream that you can also buy especially when the temperatures are unbearable. The great part of this tour is that you need not to pay admission fee. You can conclude the tour with a visit to the beautiful cactus garden that is outside. This garden has over one hundred varieties of cactus that you can see.

The Neon Museum is another great place to stop while on Holiday in Las Vegas. This specialty museum is unique as it has three major components namely the Fremont Street Gallery, the Bone Yard and the Neon Signs project.

There is a collection of over 150 rescued neon signs dating back to the early 1990s that are donated. These include motel, business and casino signs that you will find throughout Vegas. We went through this museum with a volunteer guide who was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting. I highly recommend a visit.

The other amazing attraction that we visited in Las Vegas is Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This area has numerous hiking trails even though we opted for a drive. It is scenic, breathtaking and beautiful, ideal for picnics.

This conservation area is also children friendly. When you are going here, be sure to take water, hiking boots, sunscreen and of course your camera to capture the amazing views of the scenery.

The Tuacahn Amphitheatre also offers an excellent out of town experience. This is one of the best outdoor theatre experiences that I have ever had presenting plays, cultural works and music. Everything about this place is amazing and I can only say that this is a rare gem in the desert.

The productions are professionally done and the setting is beautifully unimaginable. The shows are simply terrific. If you must miss any other out of town activity in Las Vegas then let it not be the Tuacahn Amphitheatre experience.

Although we had been to the strip before, we went back for the second time because there is always something new here. Moreover, it is a great place for sightseeing and shopping that can complete your holiday experience perfectly.

The strip is also famous for its shops, tattoo parlors, topless bars and wedding chapels. Unlike the first time when we visited this spot during the day, we went to the Strip at night and it was truly breathtaking.

We stayed out at one of the topless bars whose name I do not remember until late while enjoying some great entertainment. The atmosphere on the strip is great and you can never be bored.

Away from the night fun, we also went to the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at Bellagio. Here, we got to see a passionate display of nature in awe evoking glory. This is nothing short of a sensational display that lets your imagination wander as you stroll leisurely.

While here we got an opportunity to have a feel of how the different seasons are like through the various gorgeous flowers, plants as well as trees that are thoughtfully arranged to inspire full splendor.

This is a great place to take a break from the rushing sound and noise in the city. You can also take some time to walk around as you breathe in the aroma of the beauty.

If you go for holidays in Las Vegas in the company of children, then you must go to Circus Circus Midway. This amusement park is part of the Circus Circus Resort and the adventureDome. It was exciting to play some old fashioned games here even though we did not win any prizes.

The video arcade is another exciting place and you could easily spend hours here in gaming because the games are not that pricy. There is also a McDonald here where you can grab a burger. The only thing that you need to put up with is the loud noise as well as the crowds.

As we came towards the end of our holidays in Las Vegas, we opted to have some fun at the Slots-A-Fun Casino where drinks have been downsized. We had a great tie gaming here while enjoying some of the best tasting cocktails. It is a great place to go for some fun.

The Bellagio Fountains was our final stop in Las Vegas and as always this did not disappoint. We went there in the evening where we spent hours watching the spectacle of water and music displays. Whether you are in Vegas for the first time or on a subsequent visit, you will agree with me that this beautiful sight is one of the attractions that you will enjoy at any time of the year.

Moreover, the ambience as well as the graceful lines of the Bellagio will make you feel like you are in Italy.

Based on our second time visit of our recent holidays in Las Vegas, I can guarantee you that there is more to this city than the casinos and gambling. Therefore, next time you are planning for your holidays think about Las Vegas.
