If you are looking to enjoy all the luxuries of fine beaches, you’d do well to visit Indonesia.
There’s no finer place to luxuriate in warm sand, surf under clear skies, and bask in the golden sun.
Kuta is one of the best beaches in Bali.
It showcases a five-mile stretch of pure sand that is the perfect attraction for people who are fond of surfing and sunbathing.
Another lovely thing to know about this place is that the fun does not end after sunset— party lovers never leave this beach lonely!
Nightlife in Kuta is joyful and riotous, such that tourists from all over the world gather together in restaurants, nightclubs and bars for a truly festive experience.
Best time to Visit Kuta?
Because of its equatorial and tropical location, Kuta has a tendency to get hot and humid.
Combined with the lovely and extensive waterfronts, it has become a paradise for beach lovers.
You should not expect the weather to be entirely clear and dry all the time as there’s always a chance for rain.
The months between November to March are favorable for being light and slightly humid.
But a possibility of heavy rainfall in these months is also high.
From April to October, the weather in Kuta is drier, but there is an intense humidity in the air.
On the other hand, from October to April the season is wet and cloudy with chances of thunderstorms in the evenings and afternoons.
You’ll want light, waterproof footwear for these months.
From November to February, Kuta experiences its highest temperatures, and it can reach up to 90 degrees.
Best things to do in Kuta
Here is the list of my favorite things to do and leading attractions in Kuta, offering you great adventures and fun holidays…
Things to do in Kuta beach
People who are looking for a great beach and lots of fun will love Kuta.
The only interruption you will find here are the locals.
They might try to sell products such as hats, a sarong, towels, and T-shirts, to you.
Alternatively, they might offer services like braiding your hair, painting nails, body massage and other things.
The price of these items and services is actually low, but they might also try to upsell, so be ready to say no if you don’t want anything.
If you are looking for a gorgeous summer walk, there’s no better place to visit than Kuta Beach, but don’t try doing it while barefoot.
The sand becomes really hot in the summer sun, so you’ll definitely want footwear.
Blisters are no fun for anyone!
When you get hungry, it’s also very easy to find fancy restaurants in the area.
Choosing small drinking stalls to avoid spending too much on beer is a good idea.
You also won’t want to swim here, as there’s a lot of garbage in the water.
It’s no fun trying to breaststroke with trash clinging to your legs.
Though beautiful, this beach is not favorable for relaxing over a longer time; as many scammers and hustlers are there to waste your time and money.
If you’re clever and a good haggler, you can get good prices here, however.
Vacationers looking for awesome sunbathes and spa treatments for low prices will like this site.
What else to do in Kuta, Bali?
Bali Paintball Arena
If you haven’t ever been paintballing, don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the fantastic and affordable experience of Bali Paintball Arena.
The manager there is friendly and safety conscious, while the staff is supportive and offers excellent service.
Have an
awesome time shooting targets, and using paint guns and
air rifles— it’s guaranteed to get your heart pumping.
Everything required is supplied by the company, with lots of water and hot chips after every 15 minutes of the game.
Being a family attraction, this place is also good for kids; offering great safe fun with well cared for equipment and devices.
The kids will love to be dressed and painted as soldiers and the shower facilities and post game snacks are also commendable.
You’ll be picked from where you stay and taken to the activity site.
There’s also a locker service available to secure your belongings.
In order to have a great game, you should not forget to stretch before and after paintballing as part of the warm up.
Running, slinging, dodging, jumping and shooting your friends while avoiding being shot yourself is exciting, but it’s also great exercise.
And don’t worry, the crew lets you know about the rules and safety points in detail before heading out to the paintball arena.
Popular Kuta tourist attractions
Balangan Beach
One of the must-visit places in Bali; Balangan Beach is well known for the green scenery and majestic natural beauty all around.
Although it is a quiet and pleasant beach, you should visit there early before it becomes more crowded.
There’s an awesome view of the sunset with soothing waves and far stretched sheets of sand.
You will definitely want to bring a camera to cherish the memories.
Featuring the best spot for both adults and kids, you will find excellent spots for surfing here.
White shelly sands and rows of authentic warungs make this place outstanding and memorable.
Despite being stony and rocky, this area is pleasant and worth visiting for beach lovers.
Don’t try to walk over the sand barefooted, as broken glass could hurt you.
Try to bring everything you’ll need, as things on the beach have a tendency to be overpriced.
This wild beach offers you the services of beds and umbrella but finding cheap food and drinks here can be a challenge.
You can, however, find an excellent restaurant for Wi-Fi, pool services and substantial meals just 5 minutes up the hill.
My favorite Kuta attractions
Ground Zero Monument
Built in the memory of 2002 terror attacks in Bali, the Ground Zero Monument is known for its elegant architecture and historical information about the deadliest terror attack on Bali.
Made up of carved stone and huge marble plaques with names of people killed in the assault, the building is a sobering remembrance of unpleasant results of terrorism.
At the site of the paddy, this sombering monument reminds everyone about those lost lives which had been targeted to spread terror.
Although the site is beautiful for photography, tourists are expected to show respect for the commemorated event and those who lost their lives.
At this site, you will get a chance to reflect on this sad moment in history and pay respects to the victims.
Fun things to see in Kuta
Waterbom Bali
Exhibiting fabulous water slides and rides through 3.
8 hectares of landscaped tropical parks, Waterbom Bali offers several hours of fun and entertainment.
You will find the environment and water here friendly to your skin and health.
The advance salt chlorination techniques utilized by the park guarantees great water enjoyment without the fear of any adverse effects on the skin.
This is the kind of place that satisfies your soul most.
Designed to strict international safety standards, the water slides here are a great attraction for couples and kids.
Plenty of pool time, snacks to keep the energy level raised and water slides to enjoy together make your day marvelous.
If you are interested in snapping up the best places to laze around and relax, try to visit early before it becomes crowded in the afternoon.
Places to see in kuta with Kids
Circus Waterpark Bali
This family water park offers a really fun and playful ambiance.
It’s designed to be safer for small kids to play in.
Featuring a variety of pools, slides, tubes and water sports, this water amusement park is set within a tropical garden.
The various food and refreshment stalls, trampolines, flying fox, gazebos and children playgrounds there make this place perfect for children.
The best
thing about this park
is that you won’t find lots of people.
You will not be allowed to carry drinks and food from outside here, but some café type food points there are ready to satisfy your hunger.
Being cheaper than Waterbom Bali, the Circus Waterpark Bali offers favorable hangout for children where they can spend even hours enjoying different water activities.
The wonderful staff is supportive and supervises kids constantly for safety and security.
Make your day awesome with the kids and family in this water park.
My vacation adventures in Kuta
Petitenget Temple
This elegant temple is located on a waterfront in Kerobokan petitenget.
Designed with typical Balinese carving, this place of worship is believed to be historical and holy by natives.
Like all the other temples in Bali, this one is also a famous place of rituals.
Not visited by many tourists, the Petitenget Temple has beautiful natural scenery, surrounded by marvelous sunset views.
The parking lot is broad enough to accommodate dozens of cars and bikes.
Although crowded with beggars, the only thing you won’t like here is the pollution.
Most Fun things to do in Kuta
New Kuta Green Park
Kuta Green Park is not a very exciting place, but kids like to visit this site for the various attractions they offer.
The staff is also supportive and willing to amuse your children in their wave pool.
Bring some food with you as you won’t find good food zones here because the place is not popular among tourists.
The park is well cared by the management, and has the potential to become great
attraction in the future
.
What else to see in Kuta?
Kuta Theater
People looking for an exciting night out in Bali should plan to visit a cultural show at the Kuta Theater.
The amazing cultural shows organized in the theater are both hilarious and insightful.
You will likely see more than 5 stories within an hour of performance.
Through the story, you will learn more about the majestic glory of Bali.
Enjoying the performance in comfy reclining chair watching a huge screen while you sit back is one way to relax during the entire show.
Every time you visit Kuta Theater in Bali, you will find new
things learn more about the local culture and paradise
beauty.
In short, it is an impressive example of classic Balinese costume, dance, and script.
The cultural and magical performances represented in the show are also loved by kids.
The only thing that can disappoint you is the location.
It can be a little hard to find, as it is situated back from the main street and on the second floor of an old building.
Despite the eye catching and fantastic show, some space for improvement is still there.
Securing a VIP seat in the theater for you at $18 is a good deal, as you will be treated to a superb show.
Famous things to do in Kuta region
Kuta Square
The Kuta Square is where you can find the heart of the city as well as excellent opportunities for eating and shopping.
You can even grab an attractive deal for free pizza tasting in front of Mata Hari.
The supermarket in this place is an excellent zone to pick up herbs, coffee, palm sugar and other utilities.
You can also find some retail shops to purchase shoes, T-shirts, and clothes.
Like every other part of the world, when you go through the market street local shopkeepers try to drag you into their store and force you to purchase something from there.
They might follow you when you walk; just avoid collecting their business cards, keep walking without looking at them, and don’t hold your wallet in your hand!
Many shops such as Burger King and McDonalds
are there to offer you delicious fast food
.
Next to McDonald’s, you will find the Matahari department store to shop for Balinese products.
Due to small and narrow roads, traffic gets worse around here.
On the other hand, you will find Discovery Mall a few hundred meters away.
From Kuta Square, the Hard Rock Café is within walking distance.
Purchasing a broad range of T-shirts, DVD’s and ladies’ garments in nearby stores is one of the favorite pastimes of people who visit here.
Cool water activities in Kuta
Pandawa Beach
Located in Kutuh village in Kuta, the Pandawa Beach is far and hard to reach.
Being a new beach in Bali, it has different features from other beaches.
For instance, it hosts not only water sports and adventure, but also a place with statues of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
Canoeing and playing on the beach will make your day fantastic, but the waves can be exceptionally big sometimes so you should take care.
In addition, it can be hard to find fresh water here, so it’s a good idea to bring your own.
As some roads are still under construction, you may find some interruption in transportation, but from the topmost part of the cliff, you will be able to enjoy an incredible view of the beach.
Activities like swimming, surfing, and picture taking are all top notch here and you can view the statues of Mahabharata story.
During, Avoid visiting during school break time as you will find huge crowds thronging.
The long beaches, the elegant scenery and Pandawa statues there are the main attractions.
More of my adventures in Kuta
Dreamland Beach
Enjoying a remarkable view of fantastic a beach with pure sands is possible on Dreamland Beach.
Advance surfing is also possible on perfect waves, which are short and small.
On the other hand, people who want to enjoy beach cabana lounges will like to visit and stay here.
There are sometimes strong, sweeping currents, but the presence of trained lifeguards ensure safety to some extent.
Overall, you will find a nice marine area to relax and observe the waves and its surfers.
On the other hand, this surfing paradise has also been reviewed as overrated and expensive.
For instance, you need to park in the parking lot that is far from the main beach and rent a shuttle bus to go further.
Also, the vehicles used for transportation from parking to the beach are old and very noisy.
Legian Beach
Another long beach in Kuta, situated in front of the Legian Hotel, Legian Beach offers the chance of a beautiful walk, even after sunset.
Lovely scenic beauty, elegant water views, and beautiful walking trail provide a
memory to cherish in Indonesia
.
Keep in mind that this beach is poor for swimming due to strong waves.
It can get quite as well, since the beach road lacks street lights.
Still, it’s good for photo taking opportunities and a calm environment to enjoy your leisure time.
The only thing that can disappoint you here is the garbage and litter scattered here and there.
The presence of several cafes at the edge of this beach makes this place a fabulous hangout point.
Here you can order a meal and beverages while listening to the deep sound of waves.
Kuta is a charming area of Indonesia.
It is a land of beaches, temples and indigenous art and folk activities.
It is the best opportunity to learn more about the fascinating Balinese culture.
