Victory Monument of Laos

Once again, we have an excellent example of the architectural expertise of the people of Laos and this time it is the famous Victory Monument.

There are many emotions and feelings attached to this building as this design was made for a cardinal reason and cause.

This building is dedicated to the soldiers and people who fought against France during the struggle for independence.

These were the strugglers and fighters who put their lives at stake for the free future of the country.

This building was built in 1958.

It was constructed on the north side of the Lang Xang Avenue

which is a place worthy of exploring.

The monument is formed in the pattern of an arch.

The work of detailing is mainly done in the regular Lao ways and patterns.

However, there is deep and minute figure-work done on the sculptures in this building.

This artwork is really a must-see if you travel to Laos, as your journey will be incomplete without paying a visit to this magnificent monument.

You will enjoy viewing the detail works on the walls and other structures of this memorial.

But you must bear the sense of art before judging and appreciating the design.

This is a marvelous venue to add to your to-do list.

Certain structures and designs are half-man and others are equally astonishing.

The designs of birds here are also worth seeing and admiring.

If you feel like going to the upper floors of this building, you will find that the top part gives a beautiful view of the whole city of Laos.

Standing at this level is exhilarating and makes you feel as if you can see the entire country of Laos.
