What State Has the Safest Weather?

They say that Nature has no bad weather…

I don’t believe these fairy tales any more.

At least, this is practically not the case in the United States.

The United States of America consists of 11 different climatic regions where you can meet any natural disaster: from hurricanes and tornadoes to earthquakes and floods.

I was the unlucky one to experience a huge tornado in Kentucky once. I hope it won’t repeat again.

There is nothing scarier than knowing that a tornado is coming towards you and hearing how your children freak out and you think that all of us are going to die.

All my family was hiding in a bathroom covered with pillows and blankets. I was praying and thought it had to end now but nothing helped and I cannot describe how my heart was breaking almost in 2 pieces.

A bit later I heard a strong crack sound, I saw the roof of our house flying away and we all flew somewhere and ended up on the other side of our street. Everything was so fast and the only thing I had on my mind: NO,NO ….MY FAMILY…

I was unconscious for some time, I don’t remember how I landed and how I was in the air.

When the storm subsided, I looked up to understand where I landed and saw my four-year-old daughter standing nearby, yelling “Mommy, I am afraid!”

My daughter was holding her head with bleeding hand. Later I realized that she had a wound on her head that was bleeding.

I took my daughter and tried to stop the bleeding by continuing to search for other members of my family through the rubble, shaking but looking for them.

This is the most traumatic thing I’ve ever experienced,I was so afraid that I would lose them forever.

I saw my husband  from far away walking with my son and calling my name and the name of my daughter. We were all in different corners between the wrecks.

There were many injured neighbors under the wrecks asking for help too.

When I hugged my husband with my son , I don’t remember anything.

I don’t remember how we were rescued, how we got to the hospital, how I was in the operation room.

I was in a deep shock.

Rescuers in the disaster-affected areas retrieve the corpses for 4 more days after the tornado, carefully moving with heavy equipment through the ruins.

Specially trained dogs sniff the ruins to find anyone – dead or alive – still under the rubble.

 Statistics About States

Often, Hurricanes and Tornadoes haunt many residents of the United States.

The government of the country considers minimizing the consequences of destructive elements its priority task, and every year the federal authorities spend millions of dollars to help the affected regions.

Insurance companies even offer special policies to protect your property against hurricanes and other natural disasters.

I did my research and I found the most affected states by various natural disasters.

Over the past 7 years, the following states have received the most disaster relief funds:

New York – $19.46 billion

Florida – $9 billion

Texas – $8.9 billion

Louisiana – $8.5 billion

New Jersey – $3.8 billion

California – $3 billion

All of them are the most populated and popular among immigrants.

Although natural disasters affect the decision to live there or not, not all Americans and future immigrants are ready to experience something like what I experienced.

What States Have No Tornadoes?

Top States in America Where There Are no Hurricanes

Vermont

The state is located in the Northeastern of the United States.

A favorable climate is provided by the forest natural landscape. The advantage of Vermont is not only the absence of hurricanes, but also the financial security of the state.

It occupies a leading position in the financial support of the population in case of natural disasters – this makes it even more attractive for life.

Colorado

The state of paradoxes is full of river canyons, snow-capped rocky mountains and arid deserts.

At the same time, studies show that the state is much safer than others.

Hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, droughts, and other natural disasters in Colorado are very unlikely.

Minnesota

This state is in the Midwestern United States.

Its safety in relation to natural disasters is confirmed by the fact that over the past 30 years they have practically not been observed in it.

Only in 2011 was a single case of tornado formation recorded.

There were several floods, but compared to other states, Minnesota boasts minimal losses.

Michigan

The state of Michigan is located in the Midwest of the United States.

According tothe National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration , Michigan is also considered one of the safest states in America, as it is well protected from natural disasters.

There is minimal risk of hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.

Maryland

Maryland is characterized only by blizzards.

At the same time, the cities of Rockville and Frederick are recognized as the safest to live in the United States.

New Hampshire

It has the shortest oceanic coastline compared to coastal states. In addition, New Hampshire is famous for its dense forests.

While it should be at risk from hurricanes like other Atlantic states, this risk is minimal. Hurricanes near New Hampshire lose their intensity as they move north.

It is for this reason that New Hampshire remains a safe state and ranks sixth in the state for emergency preparedness.

Montana

This is one of the western regions of the USA.

The state of Montana is characterized by a variety of landscapes, because it is there that the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains are located.

Montana is virtually free of hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes, but floods can occur.

Over the past hundred years, only 5 floods have been recorded there.

Maine

The state is located in the Northeast of the United States and is famous not only for the books of Stephen King, but also for its rugged coastline.

The state is sparsely populated, and the geographical location and wide coastline make it possible to avoid hurricanes – they all remain in the southern part of the country (which is known, for example, the state of Florida). Summer storms with thunder and lightning can spoil the ideal climate picture here.

Which State is Least Likely to Get a Tornado?

Minnesota.

Its safety in relation to natural disasters is confirmed by the fact that over the past 30 years they have practically not been observed in it.

What State Has the Safest Weather?

For me it is Ohio State.

The city of Cleveland is one of the safest weather cities in the United States in terms of natural disasters. The state is located in the Midwestern United States and stretches from the Appalachian Mountains in the south to Lake Erie in the north.

Despite the fact that Ohio stands in the way of Tornado Alley, the last fatal tornado was recorded back in 1924.
