Best time to visit Koh Lipe?
Koh Lipe climate is truly ideal for beach holidays and does not border into extreme temperatures in case you’re looking to go there any time of the year.
Basically, it is blessed with two types of seasons; the wet and dry season.
The wet season has rain and moderate winds from the months of April through September, however, the rains are tolerable and only occurs for a few hours.
There are certain days of these months where the rain reaches its peak and the island experiences whole days of rain but it is pretty much tolerable.
The normal temperature on Lipe is around 26 degrees Celsius with variances between 2-3 degrees.
Regardless of what time you visit, the climate in Koh Lipe will regularly be the same.
The month of April is considered the hottest month to visit this island.
The pleasant weather season and the most ideal time to engage a tour on the island of Ko Lipe is during the months of November until February.
This is also the peak season for tourism and where a huge number of travelers enjoy their vacation in Koh Lipe.

Pattaya Beach
Has fantastic colors in the early morning and at sunset.
Beware of low tide because the sea retreats and brings up pieces of glass bottles left in the sea.
This beach serves as a port to arrive or depart from the island.
All major tourism activities start here.
The large bay of white sand like talcum powder is packed with long tail boats that sail only in certain portions of the sea bounded by buoys.
The night is full of nice little restaurants on the beach and bars.
Take time to enjoy watching either the sunset and sunrise over the sea and all types of relaxation offered by the establishments that line its coast.
The sea is calm and the water is beautiful, full of fish and corals.
The place is quiet with a few boats and seafood restaurants on the beach.
There are spa massage parlors, good food, and tranquility, there are several boats that go to and fro, but the bathing or swimming areas are protected and vessels are not allowed to pass.
The sand looks like white flour and is very soft.
If you get to the end side of Pattaya (right side looking at the sea) you can have access to a really cute little beach via a walkway and even from this small beach it is possible to make an excellent diving and snorkeling expedition in the reef.

Sunrise Beach
The Sunrise Beach is definitely the best beach of Ko Lipe even if some areas are not quite spotless, but it is great for swimming and snorkeling as well as for getting yourself immersed in the entire beach scenario.
The north side of the beach can be found along the” Mountain Resort”.
It is great for a swim in the morning when it is still not crowded (late afternoon or towards the evening is the time when it gets filled with tourists who likes to watch the sunset) and covered by the wind.
The south side of the beach or the one in front of the “Idyllic Resort,”is more windy in the morning but by the afternoon is great for snorkeling.
There are a lot of corals and fish to observe.
The beach is located in the middle of great restaurants and bars that operates from day until evening.
It is also an ideal beach for windsurfing and kite surfing.
The right side is less suitable for snorkeling, but it has breathtaking scenery.
Fun things to do in Koh Lipe
Sunset Beach
The Sunset Beach is a small, uncrowded beach where you can enjoy the view of spectacular sunsets while sipping something cold.
It is difficult or almost impossible to get into the water unless you have the proper shoes because of the many sharp stones.
It is a beautiful sandy beach that is not crowded and not full of tourist activities.
However, there is still a nice snorkeling area right in front of the beach and spectacular sunsets can be watched while sitting in the picturesque and colorful “Boom Boom Bar” where you can have a cold beer and chat with friendly local and foreigners.
If you are a sailor or have
your own boat, it is also the best reliable anchorage point to stay overnight and where
you can also find some mooring buoy.
It is a quiet beach where you can relax and bathe without much boat traffic, but a little isolated.
This beach can also be accessed from the popular “Walking Street”.
Undoubtedly, it is a beautiful beach, surrounded by vegetation, among other things, but when compare it to the other two main beaches of the island, it appears less bright with a darker sand and above all with water that is less transparent.
Still, the Sunset Beach is worth seeing, and since the island is not that big, you can easily walk through it.
At sunset, there is a family selling delicious and freshly made Mojitos and this is highly recommended.
Sunset Beach runs across the island with a pleasant shopping area with lots of tasty and cozy restaurants and bars.

Sanom Beach
A secluded beach in Ko Lipe that is nice and modest.
It is a corner of the calm and heavenly sea, but pay attention to the movement of the tides, especially in February, it brings the sea level to retreat in the afternoon and in the early hours of the morning.
This is a private beach that is very beautiful and tiny.
You need to cross a makeshift footbridge branches and plywood boards to get to the main beach.
Entrance to this pathway is only allowed up to 6:00 PM.
Do not get confused by the map where it looks far and seems without any access.
Also, do not be intimidated by the wooden bridge.
It seems old and broken, but it is very safe and is placed to avoid guests from walking through the stones.
It is by far one of the best beaches you can find in Ko Lipe.
The tranquility of the
beach is amazing and it also has an excellent resort
with incredible views.
The sand is like flour and the water is crystal clear, what more could you ask for.

Adang Sea Divers
The Adang Sea Divers is a great diving facility that you can rent while in Ko Lipe.
What is most interesting about this site is the overall relaxed feel which is totally non intrusive.
The materials, or equipment and the choice of boat complements each other.
They have a diving school and they will give you ample time for you to consider before and after the dive.
It is a new dive shop that has taken over since June, the baton from the previous owners.
They really do their best to make people enthusiastic to learn diving.
It is here where they strictly follow the required PADI open water course.
This short course is really recommended.
The diving instructor named Alex explains everything clearly and calmly.
What is noteworthy about their staff is that they inform everyone to take the diving lessons seriously and that they totally were not out there to rush things.
After the dive, you can go through your reading in a hammock with a cup of tea or coffee.
All instructors know much of the
area and tell beforehand about your dive and what cool things
to see there.
The beautiful corals everywhere make it more than worth it.
Near the beach there are clean rooms, good bed, a hot shower and inexpensive meals.
It is definitely worth going back to once you have earned your first diving certificate.

The diving school is a simple bungalow on the beach with great views from the lobby bar.

Aside from the tour, they have a very nice BBQ on a deserted beach with a view of sunset and finally, after the sunset, you can swim with bioluminescent plankton which can be found in another side of Koh Lipe.
They have snorkeling trips in very different places from each other and where you can admire the rich fauna of Koh Lipe.
Lunch break is usually done on a deserted island with your feet in the water or on the sand.
It is indeed a paradise to live even for a day.

Like the other diving centers on Koh Lipe, which is always done on larger boats, this is one of the most mediocre diving centers ever.
The equipment is ok (masks, fins, etc.
), and the customer satisfaction is excellent.

The diving journey begins with a boat that will take you to the discovery of wonderful dive sites in the island of Ko Lipe.
Their package tour is organized very well with meals that are always available and freshly cooked.
This diving facility has an area dedicated to cylinders and compressors, where the local teens are always friendly and smiling, and helps recharge and arrange the equipment.
The owner of this facility is Brad, and he allows every diving expedition and its participants to have long moments of leisure in between dives.
His assistant Paul is always helpful and with a great desire to do so.
Another staff named Vinz is very professional and is able to transmit serenity and calm before any situation.
Tanguy (the French guy) has a list of undisputed diving talents, but always very attentive to the needs of the life on board the boat of all the participants.

Sabye Sports Dive Adventures Thailand
The smallest and most remote dive shop on the island of Sunset Beach.
The day tour begins with dive guide Brendan on board a long tail boat.
The tour includes a visit on two dive sites which are not so far away from the reef area of Koh Lipe and had little flow.
After the dive sites, a visit to a secluded beach is done and where you can have a lunch on a couple of picnic blankets.
A tour of the second diving spot is done next and Brendan gives a brief introduction to the dive sites and take lots of photos under water which he gladly gives to his clients free of charge.
Arriving at Sunset Beach, he gives another evaluation of the dives again with smoothies and banana bread at the end of the diving excursion.
