View More ->

Let me tell you about one of the most kickass vacation spots in Thailand – Pak Chong.

This place has gone from a dusty ol’ rural outpost to a full-on tourist hot spot in just a couple of years.

It’s crazy!

I remember the first time I visited Pak Chong.

I was blown away by how much it had changed.

The locals were all talking about how the place had transformed into one of the best vacation spots in Thailand.

And you know what?

They were right!

Things To Do In Pak Chong

Pak Chong is now the go-to destination for rich peeps in Thailand, especially those from

Bangkok

.

A lot of them have vacation homes here, and it’s not uncommon to see Thai celebrities walking around.

I remember seeing a few stars from the entertainment industry and feeling like a total fanboy.

One of the coolest things about Pak Chong is the Khao Yai National Park.

It’s like a natural wonderland with mountains, lakes, and

waterfalls that are so freaking beautiful

they’ll take your breath away.

And if you’re into wine, this is the place to be.

The area produces some of the best wines globally.

But don’t just take my word for it – you gotta experience this place for yourself.

The air is cooler here, and the landscapes are so picturesque you’ll think you’re in a postcard.

And if you’re into markets, you gotta check out the night market.

It’s freaking awesome!

I recommend renting a bike or car and exploring the area on your own.

There are so many hidden gems you’ll miss if you stick to the main roads.

And if you’re looking for good lodging and boarding facilities, the town square has got you covered.

Plus, there are plenty of banks and ATMs around, so you don’t have to worry about carrying cash.

Visit Pak Chong

Best time to Visit Pak Chong?

Avoid the months between March and May, they are extremely hot for outdoor activities and excursions.

Then follows the rainy season for the next three months; which is a blessing if you are planning a vacation!

The rest of the year is cool and enjoyable baring the three summer months.

Best things to do in Pak Chong

Here are my favorite tourist activities to do and see if you ever come to the beautiful Thai city of Pak Chong…

MotorBiking

Considered to be one of the best adventure ports locations in Thailand, the motorbiking here is extensive.

You will find many tour operators here who will offer you motor bikes and motor biking gear on rent.

Because it is not expensive at all, you would love to indulge in this sport.

Specific areas have been allocated to Motor Biking in Pak Chong.

There are specially designed hurdles and tracks that keep the adrenaline rushing.

You need to know at least how to ride a bike for you to enjoy this.

Full throttle and loads of noise, the humming of the bikes will lend you immense energy.

MotorBiking

Locals who excel at Motor Biking also throw a show, an exhibition of the tactics that they have come to master over the year.

With wheel spins and jumps, this is one show you should not miss.

The moment the motor biker flies midair and does a wobble on the seat of the bike, clinging on to nothing and suspended in mid-Air, you will be able to feel your heartbeat in your own ears.

Completely engaging, this sport is one of the best things that you can do here.

Alternatively, if motorbiking with thrill and adventure is not what you want to do, you can just rent a motorbike and go narrower into the streets into the interiors of the place making yourself connect more to your surroundings.

And once you are done exploring your neighboring areas, dare a bit and go biking to Wang Nam Kaew.

My holidays in Pak Chong

GranMonte Vineyards

This is where the best wine in Thailand is grown.

Amazing machinery, amazing technology and amazing people!

This is the best way to describe this place that is scintillatingly delicious.

Not only are you allowed a full tour of the place but you can also choose your favorite wines at almost throwaway prices.

The entire process of the grapes and the fermentation making them wine is just superb.

A fun activity for children and adults altogether!

During the season of the grapes, you can also indulge in picking grapes for the wines.

GranMonte Vineyards

The stay is wonderful if you wish so, and the food served is well cooked.

Basically, a place where you would not find the lack for anything!

Totally comforting with all the basic hospitality amenities in place, this Vineyard is one of the best in Thailand and matches up to its standards.

Indulge in the wine tasting session which will leave you stunned with the different tastes of wines that exist.

Definitely worth a visit once if you want to know where and how your wine comes from?

It is even more pleasurable to enjoy a sip of wine when you know how it was made!

What else to do in Pak Chong District, Thailand?

Khao Yai Art Museum

Absolutely fabulous, this art museum is an extensive collection of modern art and Thai origins.

While a tour of this place will leave you spellbound, you will also be amazed to see what all you can identify here.

Though the origins of the Art are strongly Thai centric, this is considered to be the best place to visit the great collection.

Very strategically constructed, the museum itself is a piece of art.

Khao Yai Art Museum

Present right beside the beautiful mountains, the Khao Yai Art museum also houses a stupendous café which serves excellent coffee.

If not for the love of art, you need to visit this place for sure if you are a coffee lover.

There is not much of a deviation from the main highway and if you have rented a car, you can easily reach the place following the directions that are well placed.

My favorite tourist attractions in Pak Chong

The Green leaf tour

Considered to be one of the best outdoor activities in Pak Chong, the green leaf tour is one of the best excursions in the whole of Thailand.

You can stay comfortably at the Green Leaf hotel and enjoy your stay in the lap of nature.

There is a pond nearby and it is safe for swimming.

So if you are a swimmer, you can spend almost half a day lazing in and around this pond.

There is also a Bat Cave in the area where you can find thousands of bats flying around you.

It may sound scary to you but this Bat cave is one of the most frequently visited places in the area.

The Green Leaf tour also includes a trip to the waterfall.

With white water gushing down the slope, you need not do much except jump in and be happy in the pond.

The Green leaf tour

This waterfall is very scenic and also gives you many photographic spots.

The staff is very passionate and they try to keep you as entertained as possible.

If you wish to extend your stay here, you could be lucky to have a scorpion roll down your arm without harming you.

Here they make all the animals interact with you.

You can easily spot gibbons, hornbills and monkeys and they also do not seem to be afraid of you.

This is why you can spot them in natural habitats, living the way they normally do and also help you enjoy your day.

If you feel like, you can also feed the monkeys and share a bite or two of your food with them.

Dense foliage covers the area making it cooler than the surrounding areas and the beautiful scenic locations around it make it a traveler’s delight.

A must visit for those who can just pack a bag and tread on paths unknown.

Beautiful stuff to do outdoors in Pak Chong

Jungle Trekking in Pak Chong

This is one outdoor sport that will totally thrill you.

Not only would you find it amazing to try it, even if you are an amateur at trekking you will surely enjoy it.

What would you call an experience of seeing around 2 million bats rush from one hilltop to the other?

There are many points of the Jungle Trekking which show glimpses like that.

The best part about the Jungle trekking tour is that it does not make large groups and is not commercialized.

More than making money out of it, the trekking guides want you to enjoy the experience and so they keep their groups small providing more personalized attention to each trekker making the entire trek a special one.

You cannot miss the blue skies that seem to be nearer than normal and if blessed with a bright sunny day, you would be able to enjoy the breeze which will otherwise make you feel cold.

Make sure that you are wearing a good pair of trekking shoes because some of the stretches are very rough and take a lot of practice and efforts to be crossed.

Also carrying basics like a first aid and some dry food and water is a must.

This is one definite tour that you need to make for enjoying the barren nature.

What else to see in Pak Chong Thailand?

Wat Thep Phitak Punnaram Temple

With 1250 steps leading up to the Buddha this is quite an uphill walk.

And all along the way up you would find many resting spots also.

This is why you actually enjoy the walk up hill and don’t feel tired!

The craft of the builders is awesome when it comes to precision and symmetry of the sculptures that they have made.

Colorful and alive, this temple is wonderful in terms of sanctity and discipline.

Situated right atop the hill, this temple is very popular among the local and considering the big Buddha Statue is right atop the mountain, it is visible from greater distances as well.

There are beautiful manicured gardens all around the Wat Thep Phitak Punnaram Temple .

Also, the bottom of the hill is lined with a small market place that has many locally crafted hand made things displayed at discounted rates.

These are some things you could just easily pick up as souvenirs and gift your loved ones.

Apart from that you will also be able to choose from amongst the many stalls that are present.

The food served is primarily Thai in taste with a little bit of an English cuisine thrown in.

A must visit to explore the history of this place!

Thongsomboon Club

Almost throwing you back into time, the Thongsomboon Club has horses running all around the place with excellently made awesome Cold coffee.

The club house is astounding as far as its structure is concerned and you would just fall in love with the beauty and planning of this place.

The perfect location for having a relaxed evening, this club will have you hooked to it.

The many rides that you can have here will keep you busy throughout the day.

There are some rides that will actually freak you out, but the quotient of fun is much higher than anywhere else.

Because it is just two hours from Bangkok the place is normally crowded with so many people trying to enjoy the rides.

A definite visit for your and tour family.

Popular Pak Chong Tourist activities

The Bonanza Exotic Zoo

Exotic really means exotic in this place.

The Bonanza Exotic zoo is one place you definitely have to see when you are here in this city.

Clean and maintained this zoo has been modelled on a nature village and can be visited at any time of the year.

An extensively designed Dinosaur Park for the children will have you spending many hours inside it.

While you can see most of the animals in the cages but many animals have been kept in their natural habitats with some cages built right around it.

Not too expensive also, this zoo visit will not cost you much and you can take as many people as you want to accompany you without the fear of spending too much.

The animals have been cared for nicely and are in good shape and health and are friendly to an extent too.

Definitely worth a visit once!

Rancho Charnvee resort and Country Club

If you love golf, you should be here!

Beautiful and tricky, this Golf Course will tire you mentally and physically.

The different wind velocities and directions make it very difficult to put the ball.

The gold course has been very well maintained and looks neat and clean.

The golf carts are frequent and do not waste much time in transporting you from one place to another.

A giant restaurant offers you good food at affordable rates and also invites you to the buffets to try everything that appeals to your eye.

Playing a game or two is not easy.

As mentioned before, Pak Chong in Thailand is the elites’ area and it is not strange if you find some celebrities enjoying a game with you.

The big restaurant also gives you a chance to eat good food and rest for a while before you have to come back.

While playing golf is considered de-stressing, the ambience and the helpful staff will make you feel as cozy as possible.

Pak Chong is one of the biggest districts in the area and has a lot to offer.

The city is well connected and you can reach here through any of the options of a bus or a train.

The area has been well marked with the directions and this gives the ease of mobility if you do not want to rely on public transport and rent your own vehicle which is highly recommended.

There are many waterfalls that you can enjoy and it is a good venue for shopping also.

Apart from the local handmade crafts and sculptures, the apparel and food to be tried at the night markets is surely a delight.

Most of the people find a lot of personal space in Pak Chong because this district is not very commercialized.

Only a few people know about this place except the locals.

So if you want to roam around a place without too much crowd, Pak Chong is where you should be headed to!
