If you decide to travel to the USA, be sure to come to the great Midwest to learn a lot more about the country.

Ohio is not only an agricultural state, but also an amazingly beautiful region.

If you do not know which cities to visit, then today, my article will tell you about the most interesting cities in the state.

The state of Ohio, whose cities are known throughout the world as large industrial, educational and recreational places, has a lot to say about itself.

Some Interesting Facts of Ohio State

Each city or state has its own characteristics and interesting facts, which will always be useful to know.

For example, few people know that tomato juice is the official drink of Ohio.

Or, for example, that the law allegedly prohibits six women (or more) from living under one roof. Five is still allowed.

There is even a law banning duels, although they are unlikely to be held in our time.

And before selling chickens, they are forbidden to be painted in any color.

And, finally, one more funny law – it is forbidden to install slot machines in such non-standard places as a barn.

Ohio still has many absurd laws : For example, in public transport you can not spit on others.

It is illegal to give alcoholic beverages to fish in the state.

It is forbidden to breastfeed a child in front of passers-by.

What is The Most Beautiful Small Town in Ohio?

In my opinion, Oberlin is the most beautiful small town in Ohio….

About 12 million people live in Ohio, and the state itself has several dozen small and big cities.

The largest are (besides the capital- Columbus)Cleveland, and Toledo, New Lexington, Warren, Findlay, Parma, Canton, Dayton – all these names of megacities are heard by almost every person.

But there are also small towns in the state, one of the smallest and Popular towns isOberlin – the population is only about 9 thousand people.

But There are more other cozy towns, designed for a quiet life.

If you decide to tour the small towns of Ohio, be sure to add a few of the following most beautiful Ohio towns to your itinerary:

 Yellow Springs

The town is unique because of its spring which is believed to have healing power.

Today, the town is a vibrant community full of interesting things to see and do.

People visit Yellow Springs to bike along the Little Miami Scenic Trail, stroll through the state park, or shop at the boutiques and galleries.

Put-in-Bay

Put-in-Bay was mapped during the War of 1812 when it became the site of a US naval squadron.

Today’s visitors can take a look at the huge monument commemorating the city’s participation in the war.

If you visit, take the time to stroll along the waterfront and along the rows of picturesque shops that line the streets.

Loveland

The whole town of Loveland is beautiful, but to fully appreciate its charm, you have to take a look at Loveland Castle.

Loveland Castle, or Château Laroche as it is also called, is a European-style castle built by one man.

Today it is a museum that can be rented out for events. As you explore the castle, you can head to one of the many parks to have fun and relax. Loveland is beautiful any time of the year!

 Marietta

Marietta is built on the banks of the Ohio River, on the same site as a long-vanished Native settlement.

In fact, it is the remnants of this forgotten culture that make Marietta such an interesting place to visit.

The Hopewell culture disappeared around 500 AD, leaving behind a mysterious earthwork complex that you can still visit today.

Of course, you can also enjoy more modern activities such as visiting the city’s museums.

Granville

Granville is rather modest, but it has a certain note of “pride”.

It has a charming historic city center with rows of brightly painted brick buildings and eye-catching storefronts. The city was foundedby pioneers, and many historical monuments and buildings still remain here, reminding visitors of those who came here before.

Peninsula

Peninsula is another one of Ohio’s most beautiful small towns, straddling the line between urban and rural life.

Everything you love about the rural Midwest is here: covered bridges, family farms, and hiking trails.

This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.

Oberlin

Oberlin is my favorite in this list! I like it because it is a small cozy town, designed for a quiet life, the exact opposite of Mansfield or Cambridge.

Oberlin is a college town near Cleveland.

The town was founded on education and this tradition has continued throughout its history.

In fact, Oberlin was founded in 1833 by two Presbyterian ministers with the express purpose of educating Christian missionaries in a moral and biblical environment.

The city itself is named after a minister who spent his life educating people with limited access to education.

In the blink of an eye, this small Ohio town became a significant town.

Even before the end of the 19th century, it offered free higher education to those who could not afford it, and fought stubbornly against slavery and segregation.

What is the Friendliest Town in Ohio?

Dayton is the friendliest town in Ohio.

Nothing beats American hospitality in small towns.

Dayton takes the first place due to its unusually friendly residents. Walking the streets of this fabulous town, you will almost always be smiling as you pass the friendly locals.

Dayton has a warm and special atmosphere. Tourists here feel the homely atmosphere that the locals create.

The city has an anti-discrimination law. Also Dayton has an amazing, exciting nightlife.

In addition, Dayton has many old mansions, beautiful churches, and modern sports arenas.

There is also where to spend cultural leisure: several museums, galleries and theaters.

The annual Dayton Air Show is one of the largest in the United States. Another significant holiday in the city is the Celtic Festival, which gathers up to 30 thousand participants.
