What Beach Has Pink Sand in FL?

What beach has pink sand in FL?

Oh!

Pink sands are rare, but that does not mean you have to search for them endlessly.

From Florida, I can visit another tourist destination, the Bahamas.

The Bahamas is

one of the top beaches in the Caribbean

.

You get there by a short ferry

ride from the tip of South Florida

.

The most pink-colored beach in the world is Harbour Island.

The sand on it is in pastel hues that have defied all logic.

What made the beach pink has not been knownuntil now.

Many people were attracted to this beach by photo ops.

It is a beautiful location in the

Caribbean generally, but there are unique features that make

Pink Sands Beach stand out in its own right.

I will tell you the easiest way of getting there and fast from South Florida, and the best ways to enjoy the coastline.

Getting From South Florida To Harbour Island

The most beautiful

thing about the closeness of Florida and the Bahamas

is that there are many means of getting there.

Although the distance is short, people going there take either flight or go by sea on a boat to get to Harbour Island.

Ferry Services

If you are traveling between Harbour

Island and South Florida

, be ready to transit from one boat to the other.

If you aimed to save money for an air ticket, you will take a boat from Fort Lauderdale to Freeport,

Bahamas

.

From there you will board another boat that will take you to Nassau.

Going from Nassau to Harbour Island by boat is a short journey.

Flights

Getting to accessible locations is quicker.

Flying from South Florida to Harbour Island is a direct, and straight flight.

The flight is sometimes cheaper as well.

It is left to you to decide between going in your car and going on a flight.

You can take a flight from Fort

Lauderdale, Miami

, or Nassau, Bahamas, to North Eleuthera airport.

It will take you ten minutes to drive in a taxi to get to Harbour Island.

Harbour Island

Harbour Island does not have a large land mass.

You will not find it difficult to locate Pink Sands Beach once you are on the Island.

There is a parking lot for you if you came in your car.

From the parking lot to the beach is a walking distance.

There are many hotels and

resorts that are located a walking distance of the beach

.

If you are planning to be there for a few days, this is a good option for you.

You have the opportunity to explore the beach, and the Island as well.

The location of the hotels and resorts are directly opposite or a walking distance of Pink Sands Beach.

Things To Know About Pink Sands Beach

We will tell you how it got its color.

There are more things to do in Pink Sands Beach besides taking photos.

We will now tell you the things you are supposed to know before going there.

How The Beach Got Its Pink Sand

The pink color of the beach came from a marine animal.

The old shells gave the beach its color.

The name of the animal is foraminifera.

It is a shell animal, and when the shell is crushed, it produces a reddish hue.

When this reddish hue mixes with the beach sand, it produces a beautiful pastel bubblegum pink color.

When it encounters the beautiful turquoise color of the shore water, it will produce a color whose beauty is out of this world.

What To Do On Pink Sands Beach

The most common activities you will see on this beach are sunbathing and photography.

However, other on-the-water activities go on this beach.

You can go offshore collection of coral reefs.

You can go swimming because surfing activity is not active there.

If you are the type that loves to explore the aquatic animals and plants under the water, you can go snorkeling.

Hiking is a strange activity there, but going on a walk on the seashore is.

There are lots you will see if you take a walk in the landscape because the surrounding neighborhoods are rural.

When To Go

Generally, you can visit the Bahamas any time of the year but try and avoid the hurricane season.

The temperature of the region is always high during the summer so it will be better if you choose to visit in winter or spring when the weather is temperate and the water is warm.

It is located around the eastern coast of Eleuthera Island.
