The United States has some dark sides that many people don’t know.

I have seen many homeless people in the country than most countries.

What US city has the most homeless?

The U.

S.

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has verified that over 6 out of 10 people who go through unsheltered homelessness are mostly found in cities.

More than half of them are in Continuums of Care (COC) which covers 50 of the nation’s largest cities.

What US city has the most homeless?

Over the years, the city of Chicago has proven to have the most unsheltered people, competing with Los Angeles and New York City.

Based on government data, more than half a million people are facing homelessness in the U.

S.

or any given data.

This only lets us know that our country is going through the danger of homelessness, which may damage proportions.

Looking at the data closely, you will find that most homeless people are clustered together in some cities and towns.

When you go through cities, you see rows of tents that seem endless pitched on either side of the road.

To help you understand that homelessness is an epidemic in most cities, below are U.

cities with the highest statistics of the homeless population.

According to the HUD data, here are the cities with the highest statistics of the homeless population  in the U.

S.

listed below:

New York City

If you have ever lived in Big Apple, you will understand why the city comes first on this list.

As one of the most populous cities in the country, housing prices have over the years increased tremendously.

The rental cost for one bedroom apartment averages around $3,000, way more than the average.

Furthermore, the detecting thing about this city is forbidding camping and pitching tents in rest areas and public parks.

Thus , it is not a shock that the city has one of the country’s highest statistics for homeless populations.

Los Angeles City

The second most populous city in the U.

S.

is the number of people walking around its streets.

Just like

New York City

, this city has a a high homeless population due to

the regular increase in house prices.

So many of them who are in Los Angeles find themselves living in tents pitched on the city pathway.

From a little section of downtown Los Angeles called “Skid Row”, these encampments are now increasing all over the city.

A short time ago, the city made its rules against homeless camping in public places.

Although these procedures seem to have made the homeless shelter increase .

It is not doing much to control the city’s homelessness problem.

Seattle

Settle is known for its coffee tradition and technical company headquarters, most people not residing in

Seattle

may be thinking about how this city came to be on the list.

The point is that

Seattle is holding firmly with a homelessness

situation of ruining proportion.

Thanks to its booming technical and music scene, Seattle has become one of the fastest growing large cities in US.

But this also increased the city’s cost of living of which rent is not left out.

Like other cities, the city also deals with racism, economic difference, addiction and mental health issues .

These only worsened the city’s housing problems, causing increased homelessness.

San Jose

San Jose

is the largest city in Northern California and the third most populous in the entire state.

Despite being known for its abundance of wealth, the city is housing one of the country’s largest unsheltered homeless people.

In fact, it’s estimated that there are about 350 encampments all over the city at any one time.

One article blames this on the city’s lack of homeless shelters while others the city for punitive approach and tangible plans to address homelessness.

San Francisco

San Francisco’s problem of homelessness started to become known in the 1970s and 1980s.

With the fast loss of industrial capacity, many people lost their jobs.

On top of this, the city is also reeling from a fast rise in Housing and government cutbacks on social services.

The deinstitutionalization movement of the 70s also led to a mass transfer of mental health patients from organizations to community-based clinics.

Luckily, most of them were reintroduced into society without offering help.

Without the required social or employment talent or the ability, of which many of them ended up on the streets.

Over the years, many strategies have been recommended to stop the city’s homelessness but to no benefit.

Today, San Francisco and some of the bay area is dealing with one of the worst homelessness problem for decades.

It even stated that out of the city’s ,in  more than 8,000 homeless people, over 5,000 are unsheltered.

San Diego

Like most important cities in the golden state,

San Diego

is also dealing with one of its most badly homeless trauma in decades.

Rising costs of having life coupled with motionless wages, mental health issues and economic policies are throwing people into the streets.

In addition, the city has a punishing law against homelessness.

In

San Diego, living in your car

or camp on beaches and general spaces is forbidden.

Where is homeless the worst in US?

Outside the

city of California

, the city with the highest homeless rate in the U.

S.

is

Honolulu

.

The

Honolulu metropolitan area has an estimated

population of 953,207.

Currently, the city has a homeless rate of 458.

3, one of the highest homeless rate in the U.

S.

There is no magic structure that can end homelessness overnight.

It takes a significant amount of work from the government and society to end this disastrous event.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t do anything to help destroy homelessness.

Simply raising consciousness about the issue can go a long way.

You can also give something of value or offer homelessness shelter.

Just like the kitchen soup and other organizations that help the homeless.

Every single act can create an effect as Dalai lama said, “just as ripple spread out when a single pebble is dropped into the water, the action of individuals can go far to reach the result.
