First, I started to think of the criteria I would use to rank the burgers in Columbus. I had the option to base my judgment on the bread, condiments, various toppings, and overall taste, but I settled for taste and overall restaurant experience.

I already know that perfection is subjective when it comes to food. I can boldly say this because there are many incredible places you can buy a burger in Columbus, and I am sure everyone must have one of the burgers he will love on this list.

Most of the eaters from hole-in-the-wall dive bars to high-end restaurants have something to say about the American hamburger. We were lucky there were some restaurants in Columbus that are crushing it.

Best burgers Spots in Columbus, Ohio

Gemüt Biergarten

I will not be surprised if your first order in Gemüt Biergarten is a schnitzel, pretzel, or bratwurst. Believe me, you will miss a whole lot if you miss gem Burger, the best-hidden burger in town.

The size of Gemüt Burger is about a quarter-pound. It is a smash burger made from Ohio-raised beef. It is topped with applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, house-made pickles, and kraut smash sauce, all sitting on a brioche bun.

I will advise you to order the burger the way it comes no matter how particular you may be. The burger has beautiful flavors, and it is worth your money.

Pat And Gracie’s

It is so comforting and delightful to dine at Pat and Gracie’s. You will feel like being hugged by your loved one. Their burgers are of world-class standard. They are handpainted masterpieces.

The Rossi

If you want delicious cocktails, brunch or burgers go to the Rossi. They prepare their burger with locally sourced ground beef, top it with white cheddar, pepper jam, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and bacon, and serve it on a brioche bun.

You can add an egg to this masterpiece. I have to leave you now to think of what you will eat for dinner because I know you are salivating already.

Johnnie’s Tavern

I was skeptical the day someone suggested Johnnie’s Tavern, to me. I wondered if the little roadside joint would offer one of the best burgers in town.

I later found out they could and they did. The lunch I had at Johnnie was a no-frills experience, and I cannot stop thinking about their burgers.

Thurman’s Cafe

Pick people at random in Columbus and ask them where they will like to buy a burger from, many of them will say Thurman’s Cafe. There are many good reasons for their answer. It is in Thurman’s Cafe you will buy the famous Thurmanator.

Thurmanator is among the best burgers in town. It ranges from a Bottom bun,12-ounce burger, bacon, cheddar,  mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, banana peppers, another 12-ounce burger, American cheese, sautéed onions & mushrooms, ham, and mozzarella.

O’Reilly’s

You will buy the Black Pepper Burger at O’Reilly’s. It is a half-pound burger, packaged with cracked black pepper. The burger is bold and flavorful and goes down well with a beer at the sunken bar.

Ringside Cafe

You may be wondering how the Ringside Café built a burger legacy. Since 1897 the Cafe has been a part of downtown Columbus, that is where the secret came from. They have many kinds of burgers for you to choose from. I suggest that Buster Douglas is the best in their stock.

The burger is named after a popular Columbus boxer and weighs 1.5 pounds.

There is none of the burgers on the menu you can suggest removing. To me, Chimi Burger is the best.

Hadley’s Bar + Kitchen

At Hadley’s, you will get that perfect burger for both meat-eating and vegan friends alike. The classic Hadley’s Diner Burger is the best burger for meat eaters.

For none lovers of meat, Vegan Burger is made with house pickle, lettuce, onion, tomato, American “cheese”, and a special sauce, served on a soft roll.

Aside from this list, Colombus has hundreds of burger joints that you would love. While we see people come up with awards for the best burgers in the city, you may find your favorite in your locality.

Sometimes, we eat locally prepared burgers and we don’t want to waste money outside on burger. I recommend that you find your best burger and learn about the ingredients used on it.
