Quick answer: E-ZPass works in 20 states, Florida included, but not in Texas. NC Quick Pass is listed for 23 states and SunPass PRO for all 24 covered here; the Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado tags work across those four and most of Florida. No pass covers every state in the country, so check the toll road’s own site.
How to use it
Pick the pass on your windshield and tap each state on the route (the link keeps them). The answer says in how many of those states its issuer lists it, where only on some roads, and where it is not listed; under it, the agencies that take it in each state (for E-ZPass), the issuer’s own words, and every pass against the same route, most states first.
Where each pass works
Each pass’s states as its issuer, or the network it belongs to, lists them, read on October 3, 2026. The E-ZPass Group lists the agencies in each of its 20 states and warns: Not all toll facilities in each of these states accept E-ZPass.
TxDOT says its network lets drivers use toll roads in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and most toll roads in Florida with a single toll account

Sources: the E-ZPass Group, the NC Turnpike Authority, Georgia’s SRTA (its January 2024 announcement), the Central Florida Expressway Authority and TxDOT. SunPass’s own pages refused every reader we tried, so its states come from TxDOT and from Florida’s Turnpike, which says SunPass PRO works where E-ZPass is accepted.
Worked examples
New York to Florida on I-95. E-ZPass, NC Quick Pass, Peach Pass, Uni and SunPass PRO are each listed for all eight toll states on the way. A SunPass Mini or a Texas tag is listed for Florida only.
Dallas to Orlando. A TxTag or a TollTag covers both ends, Texas and most of Florida’s toll roads, and so do both SunPass passes and NC Quick Pass. The states between are outside the networks this tool covers: check their toll roads’ own sites.
An E-ZPass in Texas. No Texas agency is on the E-ZPass Group’s list, and TxDOT’s network does not include E-ZPass: pay the Texas tolls by the road’s own billing.
Two passes in one car. CFX: If you have both an E-ZPass and a Florida-based transponder in your vehicle, you are at risk of being charged by both transponders.
Travel with one.
Common mistakes
- Taking a SunPass Mini north. The sticker is not on the E-ZPass list; only the PRO is.
- Taking an E-PASS out of Florida. CFX:
Will my E-PASS work in E-ZPass states? No.
Its Uni does. - Reading a listed state as every road. A pass listed for a state works on that state’s agencies that take it; a bridge or express lane may not.
- Leaving a second tag on the dash. TxDOT:
You should not have more than one tag on your vehicle to avoid being charged twice for your tolls.

FAQ
Does E-ZPass work in Florida?
Yes. The E-ZPass Group lists Florida’s Turnpike and the Central Florida Expressway Authority, and CFX says E-ZPass is accepted on its 125-mile network “and now the entire state of Florida.”
Does E-ZPass work in Texas?
Not by the lists we read: no Texas agency is on the E-ZPass Group’s list, and TxDOT’s network takes TxTag, EZ TAG, TollTag, K-TAG, PikePass, ExpressToll and SunPass, not E-ZPass. NC Quick Pass, though, works in parts of Texas.
Is there one toll pass for all states?
Not for every state. Of the 24 states the passes here cover, SunPass PRO is listed for all 24 and NC Quick Pass for 23 (every one but Michigan). Pick the pass that covers your own route above.
What states is E-ZPass accepted in?
Twenty: Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and West Virginia. Not every toll road in each one takes it.
Does SunPass work in Georgia?
SunPass PRO does: Georgia is an E-ZPass state and Florida’s Turnpike says the PRO works where E-ZPass is accepted. The Mini sticker is not on the lists we read for Georgia; Georgia’s SRTA wrote in 2024 that Peach Pass is interoperable with Florida’s SunPass without saying which one.
What is the Uni pass?
Central Florida’s multi-state transponder, formerly E-PASS Xtra: CFX says it “works everywhere E-ZPass and E-PASS are accepted.”
What is the best toll pass for multiple states?
The one listed for every state on your route: tap them above. On the East Coast that is E-ZPass, NC Quick Pass, Peach Pass, Uni or SunPass PRO; from Texas to Florida, SunPass PRO or NC Quick Pass.
