Staying the night at Atlanta (ATL)? Yes, if you are flying: at night only travelers and the people meeting them may be in the airport.

Open 24 hours? Yes, for travelers: around the clock it admits only ticketed passengers, the people meeting them and those with business there; the Domestic Terminal Main checkpoint screens 24 hours.

Its own words: Access to the Airport is restricted 24/7 to ticketed passengers, personnel, individuals meeting or greeting passengers, those performing facility maintenance, and others who have legitimate business to conduct at the Airport. (atl.com)

Read on October 10, 2026 on each operator's own booking system and pages (Minute Suites, Wait N' Rest). Prices and hours change: the booking page has the real price before you pay.

Every airport in the list: what is inside it

Connecting abroad: the hubs US travelers change planes in

11 of the 30 busiest US airports have a pod or room to rent by the hour: 16 places past security (one closed for now) — Minute Suites at 10 airports and Wait N' Rest at Miami. An hour starts at $65 at Minute Suites and $50 at Wait N' Rest. Abroad, 9 of 15 hubs have one.

How to use it

Pick your airport, how long you want to rest and how many of you there are. The answer lists every room or pod inside that airport, the cheapest first, with where it is in the operator's own words, when you can book it, and what your hours cost; a cheaper way (an overnight stay, an 8-hour rate) shows under the price when there is one. Tap any airport in the list under the tool to switch to it. The link under the answer keeps all three choices.

What an hour costs

Minute Suites prices a suite, not a person: Suites are priced per suite, not per person, with a one-hour minimum. After the first hour, additional time is available in 15-minute increments. Two adults can share a suite at no additional charge. Its booking system on October 14, 2026, the same at every open suite: 1 hour $65, 2 hours $130, 3 hours $185, 4 hours $240, 5 hours $295, 6 hours $350, 7 hours $405, and its "8 Hour Day Rate" $460; its "10 PM to 6 AM Overnight" is $225. Its FAQ still says Additional time is available in 15-minute increments at $10 per increment, or book by the hour starting at $40. Overnight stays are available at $215. — the booking system charges more, and this page prices from the booking system. Our Overnight Stay includes 8 consecutive hours in a private suite between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Overnight stays are not available at BNA in Nashville, and are only available Wednesday – Saturday at BWI in Baltimore. A $5.00 Clean & Serene® fee applies to reservations at IAH, BWI, and BNA. (Minute Suites FAQ.)

Wait N' Rest prices a room by how many sleep in it — its booking system on October 10, 2026: 1 guest $50 an hour or $200 for 8 hours; 2 guests $55 an hour or $215 for 8 hours; 3 guests $60 an hour or $230 for 8 hours; 4 guests $65 an hour or $245 for 8 hours. You book by the hour, up to 12 hours per reservation. Miami International's own announcement of the opening (March 2026) said Short stays begin at $40 for 60 minutes for one guest; the booking system charges $50 now, and this page uses the booking system. (Wait N' Rest Miami.)

How much is Minute Suites? And with Priority Pass or Amex Platinum

Without a card, every suite charges the booking system's ladder above, plus the $5.00 fee at Baltimore/Washington, Houston Bush and Nashville. With Priority Pass, its own page for each suite sets the price, read on October 15, 2026: Cardholders can use their lounge visit entitlement to use a Minute Suite for a 1 hour stay. Each subsequent hour of Minute Suite usage will be charged at a discounted rate of US$40 (available in 15-minute increments beyond the first hour) and payable directly to Minute Suites. Up to 3 guests accompanying the Cardholder in the same Minute Suite may use it at no extra charge. So 3 hours with the card are $80, not $185, and the first hour 1 Minute Suite usage represents a single lounge visit within the Cardholder's existing lounge visit allocation for which the Cardholder will, where applicable, be charged. Priority Pass does not say whether the $5.00 fee applies. Amex Platinum comes with Priority Pass once you enroll, and Amex's own lounge list names Minute Suites at every one of these airports; Priority Pass still warns on each page: Access by some American Express and Capital One cards may not be available at this Minute Suites location. Salt Lake City's Priority Pass page prints no conditions at all, so the tool prices it without the card. Pick Your card above to see your own hours.

From 7 hours the overnight stay ($225, where a suite has one) costs less than the card's hours: 7 hours with the card are $240, 8 are $280.

Connecting abroad: pods and nap rooms at the hubs

The picker's second group is the 15 hubs US travelers change planes in. Read on October 12, 2026 on each operator's or airport's own page: 9 of the 15 have somewhere to sleep past security — napcabs at Frankfurt and Munich, the iGA Sleepod at Istanbul (The Sleepod area offers 44 sleeping cabins.), Sleepover's pods and cabins at Dubai (Open to transit and connecting passengers only.) and Doha, YOTELAIR's cabins by the hour at Amsterdam and Paris Charles de Gaulle, Narita's dayrooms, and seven free snooze lounges at Singapore Changi. Heathrow, Hong Kong, Seoul Incheon, Tokyo Haneda, Toronto and Delhi did not show us one on their own pages: the answer there names the hotel inside the airport instead (Is There a Hotel Inside My Airport?). Prices are the page's own, in euros, per cabin; Sleepover, YOTELAIR and Narita print none on the page.

Can you sleep in the airport overnight? Each airport's own rule

Before a pod comes a simpler question: may you stay in the terminal at all, and where is security open at night? We read each of the 30 airports' own pages on October 13, 2026, and on October 14 the rules and regulations of the airports whose pages said nothing — never a sleeping-in-airports guide. 10 let you stay only if you are flying — Atlanta (Access to the Airport is restricted 24/7 to ticketed passengers, personnel, individuals meeting or greeting passengers, those performing facility maintenance, and others who have legitimate business to conduct at the Airport.), Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle-Tacoma and Washington Reagan. 3 forbid sleeping in the terminal without permission: the Port Authority's rules for New York JFK, LaGuardia and Newark say Except with prior permission from the Manager, no person may sleep in any Air Terminal area or vehicle. 2 forbid staying without a reason to be there — Las Vegas and Miami, under their county codes (Clark County's: No person shall remain in or on any area, place or facility at an airport, unless such person has a bona fide purpose for being in such area, place or facility, directly related to the normal and regular use of such area, place or facility.). 2 close past security at night — Boston (Post-security areas are closed to the public nightly after the last scheduled daily departure.) and Charlotte. 5 say they are open 24 hours: Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Orlando, San Diego and Washington Dulles. The other 8 do not say, on their pages or in their rules. A security checkpoint stays open all night at 10 of the 30; at 6 every checkpoint closes for a few hours.

Is the airport open 24 hours? From the same pages: 10 say so or keep a checkpoint open all night (Baltimore/Washington, Detroit, Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York JFK, Orlando, Phoenix, San Diego, Washington Dulles); 9 are open around the clock to travelers only (Atlanta, Chicago O'Hare, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle-Tacoma, Washington Reagan); Boston and Charlotte only before security; the other 9 do not say. The answer above gives the line for your airport.

Seattle-Tacoma's rule is the most exact: No one may sleep in or remain in the Airport for the purpose of lodging unless: (i) the person has arrived at, is in transit through, or will be departing from the Airport as an airline passenger within twenty-four (24) hours, as evidenced by a valid travel itinerary, ticket, or boarding pass matching the person’s valid identification — so a boarding pass for tomorrow morning's flight is what lets you stay. Minneapolis-St. Paul keeps sleeping mats: Mats are distributed at an airline’s request when local hotels are full or near capacity. Denver's Rest & Recharge Area on the A Gates mezzanine is free: There is no charge to use this space. Denver's rules go further than a boarding pass: they forbid camping in the airport, and for that rule “shelter” includes, without limitation, any tent, tarpaulin, lean-to, sleeping bag, bedroll, blankets or any other cover but your clothes. Dallas/Fort Worth's Code of Rules: A person commits an offense if he resides in or upon Airport premises. — except during any period of time during which an Airport patron awaits connecting flights for which he holds a valid ticket. Philadelphia's rules (revised March 2024) say At all times, access to the Airport premises, including the Terminal Buildings, is restricted to the following individuals — staff, Wingmate Pass holders and ticketed passengers; and since July 2020 the Chicago Department of Aviation's own advisory says access to airport terminals is restricted to ticketed passengers, those assisting passengers, badged employees, and others with legitimate airport business. San Francisco closes at night to everyone else: During the closed hours of 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., only ticketed passengers; persons engaged in meeting, accompanying, or assisting ticketed passengers; persons with a valid business purpose; and individuals holding an Airport ID badge may access Airport facilities.

Staying the night at the hubs abroad

The same question at the 15 hubs US travelers connect through, from each airport's own page on October 14, 2026. Heathrow says no: There is nowhere to sleep overnight in the terminal but there's a great choice of hotels nearby — and a traveler connecting from overseas must pass UK border control to reach one. Narita closes its airside at night: Passengers cannot remain in the passenger terminals on the airside (before arrival procedures and after departure procedures) outside of those times. Its flights run from 6 a.m. to midnight, so a connection overnight means immigration and customs. Haneda's Terminal 3 stays open for international travelers only: As for Terminal 3, it is open 24 hours, but according to the usage rules, only those who have used or are planning to use international flights can stay inside the terminal overnight. 3 keep free rest areas open around the clock — Singapore Changi's seven snooze lounges in the transit halls, Munich's recreation areas behind security and Frankfurt's Leisure Zone near Gate B43; Istanbul, Doha and Hong Kong have free rest areas too, with no hours on their pages. The other 9 do not say.

Where can you shower at the airport? Every shower you can pay for, and its side of security

Read on October 14, 2026 on each operator's booking system and each airport's own page. 9 places at 7 of the 30 busiest US airports: Minute Suites rents a shower on its own, 45 Min Shower for $45, at 7 of its suites past security, in 6 airports: Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston Bush, New York JFK, Newark and Philadelphia (two at Charlotte); Dallas/Fort Worth's is closed for now. Every Wait N' Rest room at Miami has its own: Fifteen private rooms inside the terminal, each with a real bed, a door that locks and a shower with fresh towels. XWELL at JFK Terminal 4 lists Services: Massage, Shower, Wellness Room with no price on its list. Abroad, 11 of the 15 hubs have one: Dubai's are free (Refresh yourself with free shower facilities located in Terminal 3 between gates B13 and B19.), and so are Hong Kong's two, on the arrivals level near Gates 12 and 43 (Passengers are welcome to enjoy the free bathroom amenities after a long and tiring journey. — towels come from a vending machine) and Amsterdam Schiphol's cabins in Lounge 2 (Here you can use the shower cabins 24/7 (free of charge). — bring your own towel); Schiphol's Mercure in Lounge 3 charges €22.50 with a towel, and the Hilton's Refreshment Pass is €39. Istanbul's cost €10 airside, Singapore Changi's S$5 — but before immigration: If you are transiting in Changi Airport, you will need to clear immigration to access this facility. Narita charges ¥1,500 for the first 30 minutes, and so does Tokyo Haneda, in the arrival lobbies of Terminals 2 and 3 (There is no shower room in Terminal 1.); Munich €25 plus a €20 deposit; Doha's are in the Vitality centre of the Oryx Airport Hotel, in the transit area, open to every passenger for a fee it does not print, and at Be Relax Spa; Frankfurt prints no price. Seoul Incheon has four shower rooms past security, two in each terminal, open 5 AM to 11 PM: Shower room(fee charged for 30 mins, towel&amenities provided), with no amount on its listing (read October 15, 2026). Four of the most searched airports have no shower of their own. Los Angeles says so: While LAX does not offer shower or exercise facilities, some gymnasiums are located near the airport. Its one shower you can pay for is in the Admirals Club in Terminal 4, near Gate 41, whose page lists Showers; American sells a One-Day Pass for $79 to anyone flying American or a oneworld airline that day. At London Heathrow, Showers are available in the following lounges (fees apply): Plaza Premium in Terminals 2, 4 and 5 (from £27.50 a visit in Terminal 2 and £49 in 4 and 5, and the shower itself may cost extra), Plaza Premium's Terminal 3 arrivals lounge (from £22, after you land), The House in Terminal 4, and Regus Express in Terminal 3 before security. Denver's and Seattle-Tacoma's own sites list none (read October 15, 2026). At Denver the Capital One Lounge in Concourse A, near Gate 34, lists a Shower suite and sells a visit to anyone for $90 with a same-day boarding pass; at Seattle-Tacoma The Club SEA above Gate S10 says Step into a private shower and reset before you board, from $60 a visit booked online (its Concourse A lounge lists no shower). Everywhere else, airline and card lounges with showers are not counted here: each needs its own ticket class, membership or day pass.

Worked examples

  • Atlanta, 3 hours, alone: 3 Minute Suites, in Concourses B, E and F, each from $185. Concourse E has the showers.
  • Miami, 7 hours, two of you: $215 (its 8-hour rate) at Wait N' Rest — 7 hours at $55 would be $385, so the 8-hour rate is the cheaper booking.
  • New York JFK, a 6-hour overnight wait: from $350 by the hour, but An overnight stay (8 hours between 9 PM and 8 AM) is $225 — if your 6 hours fall between 9 PM and 8 AM, book the overnight. Terminal 4's suite is open around the clock; Terminal 8 is shut from 11:30 PM to 3 AM while the terminal is rebuilt.
  • Frankfurt, 3 hours before a flight home: napcabs in Terminal 1's transit area B or Terminal 3's Pier J, €36 a cabin at the 10 PM – 6 AM rate or €51 by day. The cabins on Pier A and Pier H are in the Schengen area — for flights within Europe, not a flight to the US.
  • Atlanta, 20 minutes to spare in Concourse B: Be Relax next to Gate 22 has its 15-minute massage lounger for $29 (walk-in only, 7am to 10pm); XpresSpa has three spas, in Concourses A, C and E, from $45 for 15 minutes, 6 AM – 10 PM. For a nap instead, Minute Suites near Gate B24 is from $65 for an hour.
  • Los Angeles: No sleeping pods or nap rooms inside Los Angeles (LAX) that we found. A lounge or a few hours outside the airport are the options there.
  • Charlotte, landing at midnight for a 6 a.m. flight: the airport says it is always open – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. But step out of the gates and Passengers are not allowed beyond security checkpoints once all the checkpoints are closed. Every checkpoint closes at 11 p.m. and the first reopens at 3:45 a.m., so you would wait before security until then. Its two Minute Suites are past security, from $225 for the night.

Common mistakes

  • Arriving without a boarding pass for that terminal. Every place here is past security: Guests must have a same-day boarding pass and access to that terminal to visit. Wait N' Rest: Post-security area: you need a same-day flight with access to Concourse D at MIA.
  • Booking hourly for an overnight wait. From 4 hours, Minute Suites' overnight stay ($225) costs less than the hours — but only between 9 PM and 8 AM, not at Nashville, and only Wednesday to Saturday at Baltimore/Washington.
  • Expecting a bathroom in a Minute Suite. Suites do not include a private bathroom. Showers are a separate booking at the locations that have them; every Wait N' Rest room has its own.
  • Leaving the transit area in Dubai. Sleepover's pods there are Open to transit and connecting passengers only. — and at Dubai, Please note: Terminal 1 and 3 are not easily accessible to each other. Pick the one your next flight leaves from.
  • Leaving security late at night. At San Francisco, Houston Bush, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, Honolulu and Charlotte every checkpoint closes for a few hours; step out after the last one and you sit before security until it reopens. Where one stays open (Atlanta's Domestic Terminal Main, Seattle-Tacoma's Checkpoint 4, Las Vegas' C/D), go back through that one.
  • Trusting Priority Pass's spa list over the spa's own. On October 13, 2026 Priority Pass still listed The Chiroport at Atlanta and Dallas/Fort Worth and Be Relax in JFK's Terminal 1; neither chain's own list has them. The answer above shows only what the chain itself lists.
  • Trusting an old list. Roundups still name Sleepbox pods at LAX and Miami; Sleepbox's own site names no airport today, and Minute Suites' Dallas/Fort Worth Terminal D suite is closed for renovation. Book from the operator's own page.

FAQ

Which US airports have sleeping pods?

Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington, Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston Bush, Miami, Nashville, New York JFK, Newark, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City — 11 of the 30 busiest US airports, read on the operators' own lists on October 10, 2026: Minute Suites' private suites, and Wait N' Rest's rooms at Miami. All are past security.

Are there sleep pods at Atlanta airport?

Yes: Minute Suites in Concourse B near Gate B24, in Concourse E (with showers) and in Concourse F near Gate F6, all past security, from $65 for an hour or $225 for an overnight stay.

Is there a sleep pod at JFK?

Minute Suites has two: Terminal 4 near Gate B39 (open 24 hours, with showers) and Terminal 8 near Gate C37, which cannot be reached between 11:30 PM and 3 AM during the terminal's rebuilding. You need a boarding pass for that terminal.

How much is Minute Suites?

Its booking system, on October 14, 2026: $65 for the first hour, $185 for 3 hours, $460 for its 8-hour day rate, and $225 for an overnight stay of 8 hours. The price is per suite, and two adults share one at no extra charge. Baltimore/Washington, Houston Bush and Nashville add a $5.00 cleaning fee. With Priority Pass (Amex Platinum’s included, once enrolled) the first hour is one lounge visit and each hour after it $40, so 3 hours are $80. Its FAQ still says Additional time is available in 15-minute increments at $10 per increment, or book by the hour starting at $40. Overnight stays are available at $215. — the booking system is what it charges.

Can you sleep in the airport overnight?

It depends on the airport's own rule. Of the 30 busiest US airports, 10 let you stay only if you are flying (Atlanta, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle-Tacoma and Washington Reagan), 3 forbid sleeping in the terminal without permission (New York JFK, LaGuardia, Newark), 2 forbid staying without a reason to be there (Las Vegas and Miami), 2 close past security at night (Boston, Charlotte) and 5 say they are open 24 hours; the other 8 do not say. Abroad, Heathrow says there is nowhere to sleep overnight in the terminal, while Singapore Changi, Munich and Frankfurt keep free rest areas open all night. A rented room is the sure way: Minute Suites' overnight stay is 8 hours between 9 PM and 8 AM for $225, and Wait N' Rest at Miami is open 24 hours, $200 for 8 hours alone. Not flying? Seattle-Tacoma's and Denver's rules allow staying the night only to someone flying within 24 hours, with an itinerary, ticket or boarding pass that matches their ID.

All are inside the terminal. From each spa's own page: 15 minutes from $29 at Be Relax (a massage lounger) and from $38 to $55 at XpresSpa and XWELL; an hour on the table is $125 to $185. The Chiroport prints no price. A Priority Pass card covers one treatment at most of them.

Los Angeles, London Heathrow, Denver and Seattle-Tacoma have none of their own: there a shower means a lounge, the Admirals Club's $79 One-Day Pass at LAX, Plaza Premium from £27.50 at Heathrow, the Capital One Lounge's $90 visit at Denver or The Club SEA from $60 at Seattle. Otherwise it is an airline or card lounge with showers.
