It was the summer of 2022 when my sister and I spent an amazing holiday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Being her eldest sister, best friend and trusted travel buddy the city was another way to explore our adventurous streak.
We had our share of risky places that we have previously toured but Cabo San Lucas was the safest place we have ever visited.
The thirty hour long drive on board my Toyota Avanza from Los Angeles to reach Cabo San Lucas was greatly rewarded by the idyllic water sceneries and outdoor adventures we dare not miss dipping our audacious spirit with.
El Arco de Cabo San Lucas (Lands End) is the last tip of Los Cabos which descends into the sea and forms the boundary between the Pacific Ocean and the Mar de Cortez.
The rocks form an archway viewed from the side where we get to see the rock form like a dragon drinking.
Together with the view of clear turquoise water, it is an experience worth the long travel.
Within the rock resides a small seal colony that we get to see more up close.
Lands End can be reached only by a rented boat with a guide for a few hundred pesos in the harbor.
The guides will explain a little about the history of the pier, the mixture of fishes we can find as we snorkel and the rich biodiversity of existing marine life.
We were lucky enough to appreciate sea lions, manta rays, dolphins, whales, etc.
Along the way we found two beaches at the pier-side called the Love Beach (Playa Del Amor) where we sunbathe, swim, snorkel, and enjoy the beautiful colors of the sea.
Passing the arc toward the Pacific is the Divorce Beach, very dangerous for its waves and tides’ swimming is not greatly encouraged and allowed.
The rocks have names in order of forms, from “Scooby Doo” to a witch pregnant all with the help of a little imagination.
The views are divine and the best option is through jet skiing which was an unforgettable experience for us.
The Arc is definitely the main attraction of Los Cabos one cannot miss!
The Cabo Flyboard was simply spectacular as we get to fly above the water and play along with the dolphins, an excellent combination!
It was so thrilling and all caught in high definition video which we were provided a copy of after flying and the quality is lovely.
In addition, the operators
were so kind and patient enough to train and teach us how to fly
with our respective boards.
We were greeted warmly by Paulina, Jason, and Alberto like we knew them for years, in less than two hours they were ready to assist us and no more than five minutes we head out to the sea flying with dolphins chasing behind our backs.
I had never done anything like this and in spite of having lower back pain after it did not deter my enthusiasm to keep trying to fly on that really cool weather.
The pristine beach and flying was such a thrill of a lifetime and I would highly recommend it without thinking because it was a new experience for us.
The Cabo Dolphins Center is a magical place where we interact with dolphins and know their way of life.
Their instructors, photographers, dolphin handlers and the rest of the staff were very helpful and factually answer our questions about dolphins.
They are amazing animals sensitive and intelligent I laughed a lot and had lots of pictures with them at the same time I felt very comfortable with the group.
While in the Santa Maria Beach we fell in love with its scenic landscape, hospitality of the locals, and its colorful marina.
We joined other tourists and went on a beautiful catamaran snorkel.
The true surprise was the cry of one of the passengers saying she had spotted a family of whales!
We followed and watched the spectacle for about 2 hours.
It was great to see them jump in the air, raising their gigantic tails along with their small offspring.
I will never forget that particular day!
The sweeping views of unforgettable sunsets, wonderful blue waters and seeing extraordinary luxury celebrity homes along the edges of the beach are what comprise the Pedregal de Cabo San Lucas.
On board a rented boat, after leaving the yacht club we found two whales (mother and son) an amazing sea lions, pelicans of different types, deep sea fishing and an incredible company who gamely guided us thru the waters and share anecdotes of the celebrity homes visible from the sea.
Access to the beach is public and we have to go to witness the best sunset in Los Cabos.
The beach is not recommended for swimming but for walking and being part of the beauty of this natural phenomenon.
It is an exclusive subdivision with steep streets that allow panoramic photos around San Lucas including the bay.
Chileno Beach is just one of the most beautiful beaches in the region of Los Cabos.
It has its own parking and entrance is free.
We prepared food and packed lunches as there are no bars or restaurants inside this attraction.
This beach has a natural and calm sea that makes the traveler transported to an idyllic paradise.
We snorkel and swim in its nice warm waters.
It provides the great option to see a good variety of tropical fishes among the rocks.
I enjoyed the peaceful ambience and the less crowd of
tourist on this part of the island
.
The El Squid Roe Bar is definitely the most happening with good music, good atmosphere, great food and drinks and excellent staff service who welcome and made us feel special during our night out bar hopping adventure.
It is where beings from different worlds come together and try to reach a state beyond earthly capabilities.
On this perfect meeting place they have fun mixing music, noise, and colors.
For us it was great.
This place has something super cool zero elitist crowd, then we had some tequila and suddenly I can see each person with dizzy feeling but it is safe to ignore it and we just had fun, drink and dance, that’s it!
On the dance floor at least I remember everybody else is smiling and dancing like crazy!
The bar is recommendable for a night of wild, shouting and dancing.
Not recommended for flirting and not recommended for cheating over one’s partner.
Just a night of pure unadulterated fun that is memorable for everyone.
The Mandala Club Cabo is the most interesting and happening place at night when on the island.
This Disco is open every night and is very close to the hotel zone of Cabo San Lucas.
We went on a Tuesday and had a great atmosphere.
We arrived at 1:00 am and left around 4:00 am.
They have the latest music and have a good selection that is ideal for dancing different rhythms.
Lots of beautiful people to meet and staff were very courteous and attentive to our needs.
The drinks (margaritas, frescoes, and tequila) are at normal price.
Maybe a little
expensive for those who come from Argentina, but not for Americans
.
No entry paid if we go with a group of people (fellow and Mexican).
Do not really know if it has a cost entry to the premises or if we only pay for the beverages at the bar or at the tables.
I think it’s one of the best choices for our last night at Cabo San Lucas.
Cabo San Lucas definitely has all the best elements for a perfect holiday and adventure.
We had a totally wonderful holiday in a great atmosphere of sun, sand and fun.
