I can suggest that Tampa is in South Florida.

South Florida begins from Broward County and extends to Miami-Dade County and Monroe County.

These three countries joined with the Everglades and the Florida Keys to make up the southeastern tip of the Florida Peninsula.

It is interesting to note that South Florida is where you will feel a real tropical climate.

Now, which cities are the main cities of South Florida?

What are the features that are unique to South Florida as a region?

What are the common activities in South Florida?

This region of Florida is phenomenal, and as you continue to read, you will learn more about this region.

The Basics About South Florida

South Florida has no perfect definition.

The entire state is situated in the southern part of America, and the majority of the state is towards the southern direction.

In the actual sense, South Florida is made up of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties.

Broward County

Broward County is located on the east coast of Florida on about 1,323 square miles of land.

Broward County is rectangular and at its eastern border, it has about 33 miles of coastline.

This coastline starts from Deerfield Beach in the northeast and extends to Hallandale Beach in the southeast.

Broward County is a developed coastal city.

Some of its major cities are Pompano Beach, Hollywood, and Fort Lauderdale.

Going towards the west, the developed areas did not go beyond the Sawgrass Expressway and US 27.

The rest areas are very rural.

About 2 million people are living in Broward County.

The population of the country significantly increased between 2010 and 2020.

Towards the end of 2020, there was a shift in trend.

There was a mass migration of people out of the country.

This emigration is a gain to Broward County as it is presently accepting immigrants from other states of America, just like all other regions of Florida.

You have no reason not to come here.

There are lots of features waiting for you in Broward County.

If you are a beach lover, there are dozens of Atlantic beaches with quality sand and splashing waves for you to enjoy.

You can go over to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

This world-class resort will give you the best of accommodations, delicious food, and lots of outdoor and indoor games.

For those that love to live a quiet life, they can go west to Alligator Alley at Francis S.

Taylor Wildlife Management Area.

That is where you experience South Florida at its best.

Alternatively, you can go south to Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade County

The land mass of Miami-Dade is very big.

It is more than 2,431 square miles.

The population of this country is about 2.7 million people, and Miami is its biggest city and the second Florida biggest city.

Miami is home to about 461,000 of this population.

The center of activities in Miami-Dade County is Miami.

Miami by extension is the most important city in South Florida.

Sometimes the reputation of Miami is assumed, but there are lots of things for the locals and visitors in Miami.

The city has world-class retail shops, top-tier museums, art deco architecture, and Cuban cuisine.

Miami Beach area is where you see the best beaches in America.

From the eastern section of Miami-Dade County begins the ecosystem of the suburbs of Miami.

However, the western side of the county is still very rural.

A large part of Everglades is included in its western half, and the southwestern part of the county includes a part of Everglades National Park.

You can move from the hubbub of downtown Miami to the middle of the Everglades within an hour and eerily is still active with activities.

One of the features that gave South Florida and especially Miami-Dade County its unique charm came from the calmness of the city and the country.

There is a very big difference between the well-developed urban areas and the very rural side of the country.

During the day hours, you can go to enjoy your Cuban coffee, or go watching the supercars in Miami, or boarding an airboat to the water to view alligators in the vast waters of the Everglades.

However, taking Route 1 to Monroe County will bring you to another world.

When we compare the interactions of the people of South and North Florida, the people that have lived in places like Gainesville, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville are more friendly than the people of the south.

The neighborhood of North Florida is also less crowded, and the people have large yards in their houses.

The people of South Florida are very diverse, and that stands them out.

Their population is a mixture of Europeans, Africans, Asians, Latinos, and a few people from other nationalities.

Which has better – or worse – traffic, North or South Florida?

The traffic situation in South Florida is most times horrible.

For instance, if you want to go to Fort Lauderdale, just a distance of about 9 miles on a Friday, it will take you almost 2 hours.

Palm Beach is another area you will experience heavy traffic in South Florida.
