When you get to

Newport Aquarium

, you get down to the first floor through an escalator, and from there you will begin your exploration.

Those in wheelchairs or strollers have an elevator on the side provided for them.

The only place you cannot access is the shark bridge.

You can only stroll around it and watch other people on the other side of the bridge.

The Shark Bridge

I do not know who thought out the idea of building a rope bridge across a big aquarium that is filled with sharks.

Whoever came up with this idea must be a genius.

Walking up to the shark plaza and looking down at the sharks as they swim in the aquarium is big fun, but it is more fun when you walk on the

bridge to cross

the tank.

Most people believe that sharks or alligators consume the largest quantity of food each day and each year at the aquarium, but it is wrong.

The penguins consume the largest quantity of food in the aquarium.

There are exhibits Biologists designed in the wild to monitor the habitat of animals concerning their size and environment.

Some animals are very big but do not have big exhibits because of their lifestyle.

Some of them are ambush predators that do not move around so much in the wild.

On the other hand, small animals live in fairly large habitats.

We are talking about these animals to educate the public on the need for their conservation and protection of their habits.

I used to tell students that by observing animals’ habitats, they would learn so many things about them.

Biologists design activities that they call enrichments by which they keep animals engaged while they are under professional care.

Animals living in the wild fend for themselves at all times, but when they are under professional care, they no longer care for themselves.

Therefore they are engaged with interesting activities within their environment, like interacting with food items or other inanimate objects.

An otter or an octopus may be given a food ball which they will try to manipulate to get the food inside.

New features can be added to their environment also.

Final Thoughts

Although Ohio is landlocked, it offers a lot of opportunities to people who are interested in the exploration of oceans and the creatures that live in them.

If you wish to embark on a marine adventure at any of the aquariums in the Buckeye State, the question you will ask is, which of the aquariums should I visit?

You will get excellent aquatic adventures at the Toledo Zoo,

Columbus

Zoo, and Greater Cleveland Aquarium.

They also play a huge role in global conservation projects.
