In the municipality of Pernambuco, Ipojuca is one of the favorites of international tourists who just like to pack their bags and head on a trip.
While the settlement dates to as early as the 16th Century, officially this place was established in 1560.
Pretty famous for its lovely beaches which were a reason for its colonization, the land is very suitable for lustrous crops of sugarcane, which is also attributed to the rapid growth of this area.
The main families that settled her in the early times were those of the Lacerda, Cavalcanti and Rolim Moura.
At the time of the Dutch Invasion, many industries had already been set up here and with a victory over the Dutch, Ipojuca became the most important region of this area.
There are two ports in this area which cater to the maximum commercial activity of production and sales.
A part of the colonial triangular trade, the town was centered on Nossa Senhora do O and then was shifted to the village of San Miguel de Ipojuca.
There are many theories to origin of this place and the most credible is the one according to the Vicar of the Parish which is accounted in the years from 1956.
The origin of its name comes from Tupi Guarani, which means Dark Water in the local dialect and it is also the death place of the Boxing Champion Arturo Gatti.
Apart from the beauty of this place, the tourist finds enough solace and peace here in spite of the crowds that flock to this place every year.
Best time to visit Ipojuca?
This place is wonderful at any time of the year but because of the presence of the beaches around this area, Ipojuca is very hot and humid during the summers.
The presence of humidity in this area makes it sticky and suffocating at times.
The year sees showers and rains almost throughout and the winters are very pleasant.
There is not much of a temperature difference between the night and the day keeping it relatively the same.
Plan your trip avoiding the summer months from February till October to enjoy your trip completely.

Almost mysterious, the weather here changes frequently and the tides have no count either. A lot of places to eat and drink line the area and it is easy to grab a good bit while you enjoy your drink.
Though there is nothing technologically fancy about this place, yet the best of the tourist groups come to spend time and laze around making this one of the most elite places in Ipojuca.
One of the best locations to visit with children if you have some in your group! Walled by a reef, this is almost like a natural swimming pool.
The water is ideal temperature and neither too cold nor too are warm and the sands extremely clean.
The efforts of the tourism authorities to maintain cleanliness have been paid off and you will not be able to find any litter here.
Modeled on the slow Brazilian style, this beach is slow and cool and does not even have portable showers to take a shower before you go and lunge at the waters.
Swim out to the waters or fancy a kayak and enjoy your day. The best of this beach is that you can even take your food and sit in the waters and have it.
No one is going to interrupt your idea of having fun at this place. This is why this is one of the most famous beaches around.
