Globally, investment in clean energy has reached record levels despite low oil, coal, and gas prices.

But this is not only happening in industrialized countries.

In fact, in emerging economies such as China, India, and Brazil, even more was invested in renewable technologies last year than in developed countries.

Over $100 billion is invested in China alone!

Even the oil-rich countries, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, have decided to diversify their energy sources.

These countries are increasing the share of renewable energy in their energy mix at an unprecedented pace.

Solar energy is inexhaustible; it cannot be produced in excess, and it will always be enough for absolutely everything needed by mankind for many more generations.

Well, but how is the situation in the USA, specifically in Florida, which is called the “Sunny State?

What is the Florida Clean Energy Program?

This program will help residents of Florida save money by freely choosing energy sources and energy conservation technologies without putting a solar panel on their roof.

You will not need to put solar panels on your property.

You will get the energy from the solar energy centers.

In addition, this initiative will create an increased demand for clean energy professionals and establish Florida as a national leader in sustainable business practices that address the global challenge of climate change, which poses an immediate threat to the state of Florida and its coastal communities.

This initiative is the largest-scale smart distribution program in the United States.

In addition, the US government has improved regulations to limit carbon emissions from new and existing power plants, making investing in environmentally harmful energy sources less attractive than investing in cleaner alternatives.

Who Owns Florida Clean Energy?

NextEra Energy Company.

FPL is a subsidiary ofNextEra Energy Company.

NextEra Energy was founded in 1984 as an established energy, mining, and utility company that specializes in solar and wind energy storage.

The company is the world’s largest producer of wind and solar energy, and its partnership with the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has helped reduce residential energy bills.

What is the FPL Solar Program?

It is a program that gives you a chance to use solar energy without putting a solar panel on your roof, because solar energy will come from Florida-based solar energy centers.

To join this program, you need to pay a fixed monthly subscription, and after that, you will receive bill credits for your electricity.

FPL’s solar program is a new way of generating electricity for several reasons at once.

Firstly, high electricity prices, as well as special tax conditions for those who use solar panels to generate energy for their homes, provide a good economic benefit for many Florida residents.

Secondly, and not least, consumers should purchase their own power sources to move towards cleaner energy and reduce their dependence on grids that are increasingly vulnerable to outages and disruptions caused by extreme weather, wildfires, and drought.

Does Florida Have a Free Solar Program?

No, there is no free solar program, but you can participate in the FPL program.

FPL makes using solar panels more affordable.

If you live in a municipality that offers benefits or discounts, they may offset some or all of your initial expenses.

In such cases, it may take as little as five years for the savings on electricity bills to outweigh the initial investment costs.

Are Solar Panels Worth it in Florida?

Yes, solar panels are worth it.

Solar power is far more advanced, cheaper, and greener than many other types of electricity generation.

According to BNEF, US households will install three times as many solar panels as commercial customers this year and will lead until 2030.

This means that people understand the benefits and are already switching massively, not only to electric cars.

It is very likely that by 2030–2050, a significant part of all electricity produced in developed European countries and the United States will be based on renewable and environmentally friendly sources.

And private solar panels on the roofs of people’s houses will make a great contribution to the development of the sphere.

How Long Do Solar Panels Last in Florida?

The service life of solar panels in Florida is 25 years.

This is a standard manufacturer’s warranty on solar panel performance.

In fact, batteries can last longer; the warranty usually provides that after 25 years, the performance will be only 20% lower than the nominal.

Solar modules usually degrade faster in the first 2 years of operation.

Thin-film modules lose 10 to 30% of their power in the first 2 years of operation, so they usually have a power reserve of about 15-20% when new.

About 90% of the market for photovoltaic modules is currently crystalline silicon modules because their degradation is much less and their service life is longer than other types of solar modules.

My Opinion

Solar power is indeed a good way to save on rising electricity bills.

And this trend may soon cover not only the United States but also most of the world.

If you are considering using solar energy, then now is the time because there are many incentives provided by both state and local governments.

With solar panels, in addition to helping to save the environment, you can also save more money in the long run.

Moreover, it increases the value of the property, so if you have plans to sell it in the future, be sure that you will sell it for a really good price.
