Cathedral de Santa Isabel (Malabo Cathedral)<\/h2>\n

A magnificent example of Spanish colonial and Gothic architecture. As of now, the facade is under renovation, but the activities of the church are kept.<\/p>\n

As in the rest of Equatorial Guinea, do not take pictures or only take if the local authorities allow you to do so. The cathedral is located in in the colonial island of Fernando Poo, the actual city of Malabo which is now called Bioko Island.<\/p>\n

Being an especially valuable monument, it retains the essence of the Spanish presence on the island and decadent air and lovely times.<\/p>\n

The sacred place contemplate the colorful ambience and joy, religious ceremonies are held there and you will realize that you need not go to Harlem to enjoy choral music in churches because in Africa<\/a> that music can be listened and enjoyed as much or even more.<\/p>\n

Today, the Malabo Cathedral is partially undergoing rehabilitation process. It can still be visited and accessible but you\u2019ll see from the right exterior some metal scaffolding. La Casa Verde<\/h2>\n

The former headquarters of the company Mu\u00f1oz and Gala which was pre -fabricated in Belgium and built entirely of wood, and was brought to Guinea and assembled here in the mid- nineteenth century. It has been in existence for more than a hundred and fifty years.<\/p>\n

This makes it worthy of being the oldest building in Malabo. It first served as the Consulate of Portugal, then it belonged to the company Perez e Hijos later moving to Mu\u00f1oz and Gala its current owners.<\/p>\n

It owes its current color to the name that is painted. In the process of restoration, it has kept the color giving it a darker hue. So far, the interior is not open to the public and can only be seen from the outside.<\/p>\n

The Green house is an old colonial building made of wood<\/a> that came unassembled in a boat and miraculously managed to stay on his feet despite many centuries.<\/p>\n

It was recently restored to its original appearance and color and is waiting to be granted a cultural use as it corresponds to the category and its historical references. The site is well maintained and the original parts are kept intact.<\/p>\n

Arena Blanca<\/h2>\n

One of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Equatorial Guinea<\/a>. It has a stunning beach, coastal houses and locals who live their everyday life \u2013 bathing, eating, drinking beer, and relaxing. This beach is very interesting to visit.<\/p>\n

The white sand beach is worth a visit. It is known for its natural beauty and the violent waves. You can make a stop in Luba and go to this beach, which is about 3 kilometers from the city (and some 50 km from Malabo).<\/p>\n

Although Pico Basile is a restricted area if you go with a proper permission from the environmental authorities corresponding to reach the summit is no problem.<\/p>\n

The asphalt goes to the very summit located at 3011m where we find a small military checkpoint. At an elevation of 2,800 you can visit the Virgin of Bisila, now destroyed by a storm.<\/p>\n

On clear days you can see Cameroon and Nigeria. From Malabo it is still two hours away by car; you go up or drive with a good car because the slopes are strong.<\/p>\n

The partial trekking can be done from km 22. A visit to the Basile Peak or Pico Basilo is a must while in Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n

Bata Cathedral<\/h2>\n

is a beautiful building that has been established since the seventeenth century although inaugurated in 1954 by Claretian Missionaries. The building in addition to being an architectural interest deserves a visit in itself.<\/p>\n

It offers Holy Mass everyday and ceremonies in which you can hear sacred music performed with instruments of the country like the traditional balafon and as such, parishioners sing and dance, and dress their finery, a spectacle not to be missed.<\/p>\n

The sacred cathedral was inaugurated in 1954 and has still preserved its original neo-gothic architecture. Initial work for the construction of the Cathedral of Bata began in 1951. It was designed by the surveyor Angel Rovira.<\/p>\n

The builder was an Italian architect named Nino Monti. The temple is 50 meters long and 20 meters wide.<\/p>\n

The nave has two meters. The wings are nine meters each, while the cruise measures 30 meters. In the year 2000 a restructuring phase culminated in the restoration work that started in 2003 and ended in 2005.<\/p>\n

The delicious food and ocean views make a visit to this restaurant unforgettable. The food is one of the best in Malabo. It is an optimal location for parties and you can book the whole terrace with a huge tent to accommodate all guests.<\/p>\n

It is a restaurant and bar that offers quality service and very varied menu. The restaurant is good with a nice view of the port. The terrace is nice with a lake in the center. The salads are super fresh and well-seasoned.<\/p>\n

The food is delicious fresh from the grill and the views over the harbor and the sea is breathtaking. In short it is a place where you will feel good both on the terrace and inside. The dishes are fairly priced and you will discover a great place in the heart of the city.<\/p>\n

Monte Alen National Park<\/h2>\n

Equatorial Guinea\u2019s treasured attractions that is worth a visit. It\u2019s enticing trails are one of the reasons why tourists frequent this mountain. It is a great meeting point and you can request to lower the volume if you want to talk quietly at the table with your companion. It is ideal for a romantic date and to spend a nice night cap after touring the attractions of the capital.<\/p>\n

One of the few places in Malabo where you can dare to eat a decent salad without risking diarrhea. Highly recommended are their big steak in 500 gr or steaks with pepper. The pasta is quite passable. It is a good place to define any business or simply go for a beer and chat with friends.<\/p>\n

The girls at the bar are very friendly and the French owner is a guy who is always there to attend to every customers needs and request. This bar has ample parking and strongly recommended for the young and old.<\/p>\n

La Voyageur<\/h2>\n

The gourmet restaurant Le Voyageur offers a very good menu with a vast selection of French dishes, excellent wine list, and intimate atmosphere. This sophisticated fine dining restaurant is one of the few places for a classy or elegant output in Malabo.<\/p>\n

The restaurant is perfectly named because it transports everyone to another world. It is a very good option for a night out and it provides excellent service in a new world where everything speaks of refinement.<\/p>\n

Here is the place to meet for a wonderful time. The gracious host and owner brings your taste buds to places never imagined. Do not miss it when you\u2019re on an excursion to Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n
