How many districts are in the Tampa Bay Area and which one to choose for living and recreation?

Today, let me tell you about popular Districts of Tampa Bay.

As you know from the previous article, Tampa is the third largest city in Florida.

It is even bigger than Jacksonville and Miami.

The population of Tampa is 387,050 (2021).

Tampa is located in the western part of Florida on the coast of Tampa Bay, a large natural bay of the Gulf of Mexico.

The Tampa Bay area includes three major cities Tampa, Clearwater , St.

Petersburg, as well as several dozen small towns.

What Areas Are Considered the City of Tampa?

Six geographic areas: New Tampa, West Tampa, Brooklyn Village, Downtown Tampa, Ybor City, and the Channel District are considered The City Of Tampa.

There are 84 small districts.

Tampa is a home to the largest theme parks and water parks, making Florida a family destination.

However, in addition to water and roller coasters, you will find dynamically developing art, captivating walking trails and animal parks.

The city also has weekend farmers markets and covered public markets, thriving craft beer bars and restaurants, interesting neighborhoods like Hyde Park and Ybor City Historic District, Cuban food and culture, and museums and shops worth checking out.

The most interesting for tourists are the Hampton Terrace Historic District, Hyde Park, Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights.

One of the most popular – Ybor City, coincides with its geographical name.

Ybor City is the most fashionable area of Tampa, founded in the late 19th century by Cuban, Spanish and Italian immigrants.

Initially, there were cigar manufacturers here, which have now become original industrial locations for bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping malls and museums.

Latin American communities still keep their traditions here.

Ybor City has many excellent hotels, both large chains and small ones with a few rooms.

Tampa Heights is another downtown area with the Hillsborough River to the west.

Old 19th-century buildings house craft breweries and restaurants, while the new Tampa Riverwalk and Water Works Park have become city dwellers’ favorite hangouts.

Hyde Park is an elite area in the south of Tampa.

It is famous for its South Howard Avenue or SoHo for short.

There are excellent restaurants specializing in the cuisines of different countries, as well as shops of foreign and local brands.

Students from the University of Tampa, located on its territory, often go to bars with wide cocktail lists.

In Hyde Park there are expensive hotels of world chains and cozy boutique hotels.

The city of Tampa and the city of St.

Petersburg are connected by a beautiful long majestic bridge –the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Petersburg cities are considered the Greater Tampa Bay areas.

Clearwater

Clearwater is the most popular beach destination on the west coast of Florida in the United States.

It fully justifies its name, because the water here is really very clean, and the weather is warm and sunny all year round.

Clean white sand beaches, developed tourist infrastructure and a large selection of hotels make Clearwater Beach one of the main resort destinations in the United States for those who like to relax on the sea and like the sun.

The city of Clearwater itself, like Miami, consists of the mainland and the resort island with the beaches of Clearwater Beach.

Between them is the Pope Strait, in which there are numerous marinas and boats, making Clearwater very attractive for yachtsmen.

Nearby are two more barrier islands – Sand Key and Honeymoon Island.

Clearwater is almost always sunny (averaging 361 days a year) due to its subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and relatively dry, warm winters.

The rainy season is from June to September, and the dry season is from October to May.

St. Petersburg

St.

Petersburg is called the “Sun City”.

This is due to the fact that the sun shines here almost all year round, which is what Florida is famous for.

The resort town is located in the southeastern United States and is named after the Russian city of St.

Petersburg.

This name was given by the Russian emigrant Pyotr Dementiev, a nobleman who built a railway station in a settlement on the site of the future city.

The city is located on a peninsula, the coast of which is washed by Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Tourists can visit many museums, among which is the Salvador Dali Museum with the largest collection of Maestro’s works outside the Old Continent.

There is a small aquarium on the pier, you can rent a boat or boat and swim to Tampa Bayto see dolphins.



What is Considered The Best City of Tampa Bay Area?

St.

Petersburg is considered officially the best city of the Tampa Bay Area.

Housing here is relatively inexpensive.

And life itself is loyal in many respects.

This attracts retirees who decide to spend the rest of their years in comfort.

But the city is not considered so “old”, there are many young people here too.

It is hard to imagine such a town without cafes and entertainment places.

Markets, boutiques, nightclubs – all this is present in abundance.

Marine lovers will find an aquarium on the pier.

There are other attractions of St.

Petersburg: these are parks, exhibitions, squares, beaches and the Gardens botanical garden.

There are many interesting places to go with children.

It is comfortable for shopping lovers.

And on Saturdays, from October to April, a farmers’ festival takes place.

You can get into competitions in American football, hockey and baseball.

Tourists are offered many excursions and hikes.

Fishing connoisseurs will be able to appreciate all the delights of the channel.

Water activities, kayaking, boating and sailing: the list of options rolls over.
